πŸ§€πŸ· National Cheese Day was the perfect excuse to enjoy a few tasty treats at Martins House this week.

Our wonderful residents tucked into a delicious cheeseboard with biscuits, accompanied by a choice of red or white wine. There was plenty of chatting, laughter, and comparing favourite cheeses as everyone enjoyed the afternoon together πŸ’œ

Sometimes it's the simple things that bring people together, and this was certainly one of those occasions 😊

We had such a special celebration at Martins House as we gathered in our coffee shop to celebrate Pamela’s 90th birthday πŸ’œ The space was dressed beautifully with colourful banners and balloons, and it felt like the perfect setting for a proper birthday get together.

Pamela was absolutely spoiled with thoughtful cards, lovely gifts and the most beautiful flowers. Our kitchen team also did an amazing job with a stunning cake that went down a treat with everyone.

There was even a very special visit from Lizzie, our much loved pet therapy dog, who popped in to wish Pamela a happy birthday in her own gentle way. It was a really lovely moment shared with friends and family πŸΎπŸ’œ

🐐✨ What a fantastic day we had at Martins House with a visit from Performing Pets ! ✨🐐

Our amazing residents were delighted to meet Dolly and Molly, two adorable 10-week-old baby goats who quickly stole everyone's hearts. Their playful personalities and cheeky antics brought plenty of smiles, laughter, and joy throughout the visit. πŸ’œ

Animal visits are always a favourite, and it was wonderful to see residents engaging, reminiscing, and enjoying such a special experience together.

A big thank you to Performing Pets for bringing these lovable little visitors to spend time with us. We can't wait to welcome them back! 🌟

Our lovely residents enjoyed a wonderful day out on a shopping trip to Marks and Spencer ! πŸ›οΈβœ¨

Jean, Pamela, and Carol, who all share a love of shopping and a particular fondness for M&S, spent time browsing the clothing and toiletries departments in search of a few new treats and essentials.

After successfully picking up some goodies, the ladies headed to the cafΓ© for a well-earned break, where they enjoyed tea, cake, and plenty of conversation. β˜•πŸ°

The trip was filled with smiles, laughter, and the simple pleasure of spending time together doing something they love. It was a lovely outing and a great opportunity to enjoy a change of scenery before heading back to Martins House with their purchases.

Our wonderful residents at Martins House had such a lovely time getting creative during a colourful arts and crafts session πŸŽ¨πŸ’œ

Using cotton buds, bright paints and plenty of imagination, everyone created their own firework inspired masterpieces with dots, swirls and sweeping bursts of colour across the page. Residents really enjoyed comparing their artwork at the end and chatting about their favourite designs 😊

A fun and relaxed afternoon filled with creativity, laughter and a splash of colour πŸ’₯πŸ’œ

What a fun afternoon we had at Martins House during our community games event πŸ“πŸ’œ

Our wonderful residents really got into the competitive spirit during a game of ping pong, with lots of cheering, laughter and encouragement from everyone watching along. Sylvia stole the show by landing an impressive 5 out of 6 balls into the cups, earning herself the title of champion for the day πŸ†πŸ˜Š

It was such a lovely atmosphere with everyone joining in, supporting each other and enjoying a good laugh together. We’re already looking forward to the next games afternoon πŸ’œ

There were lots of sweet smiles around Martins House today as our wonderful residents got creative making their own mini desserts πŸ“πŸ˜Š

With meringues, fresh fruit, whipped cream and plenty of chocolate chips to choose from, everyone had fun putting together their own tasty treats. Some kept theirs nice and simple while others piled on a little bit of everything 🍫🫐

The best part was sitting together afterwards and enjoying them with a chat and a laugh πŸ’œ

Excuse the pun... but we discovered some budding artists at Martins House as some of our wonderful residents took part in our very first still life drawing session 🎨🌼

Using a beautiful flower vase as inspiration, we all settled in for an afternoon of sketching, creativity, and a good chat along the way. It was wonderful seeing everyone bring their own style to the page, and the finished artwork really was incredible!

We are always amazed by the wonderful skills and talents our residents have, and this was such a lovely reminder that there is always something new to discover about one another. We have some truly talented people here at Martins House πŸ’œ

We’re so proud of Natalie, our activity coordinator at Martins House, who recently took on an incredible 26 mile walk in support of Macmillan Cancer Support . The route started in Cromer and finished at Holkham Hall, with thousands of people coming together for this special annual fundraising weekend.

Natalie set off at 7.30am and crossed the finish line at 7.10pm after a full 12 hours of walking, with a few well earned coffee and refreshment stops along the way β˜€οΈ She was joined by her brother, sister in law and her 15 year old niece, making it a real family effort from start to finish.

Between them, Natalie has already raised a staggering Β£450 for the cause, helping contribute to the incredible Β£1,000,000 total raised across the event so far. Such a fantastic achievement for such an important charity πŸ’œ

If anyone would like to support Natalie’s efforts, her JustGiving page is https://mightyhikesfundraising.macmillan.org.uk/fundraising/natalies-fundraising-page1383?utm_medium=email&utm_source=PostOffice&utm_campaign=DS_EVENTS-LFC_Trans_NthDonation&utm_medium=FR&utm_source=dssb-CL&utm_content=MPC&utm_medium=FR&utm_source=dssb-EM&utm_content=MPC . Every donation, big or small, really does make a difference.
