Not to mention time spent planning, designing, shopping, baking and cleaning.
I love what I do and I'm not complaining, but I won't compete with another baker's prices, and I'm also not going to be bartered with.
My prices are my prices, which yes, I have increased since I started out due to ingredients costing A LOT more than they did. But there are also some bakers out there charging way more than I am. I'm very reasonable.
I can't work out if some people are completely oblivious to the cost of things now, or if they just expect home bakers to be priced like Greggs.
I have MANY returning customers so I know I'm not extortionate (thank you 🙏)
I built my business to be flexible round my children, because I love what I do and to have something for me.
I can earn minimum wage stacking shelves without the stress (nothing wrong with that, but I don't want a boss 🤣)
So please, remember it isn't just eggs, flour and sugar, and that I'm living through the same cost of living crisis as everybody else.
Time is money, otherwise what is the point?
