What a beautiful community here 🥹🤍

I knew so many of you support my small business and love my cakes, but the amount of messages on my last post honestly overwhelmed me—in the best way. I’m so grateful for every single one of you for stepping up and showing your support. ♥️

That message didn’t get to me, but 6 years ago, it definitely would have made me doubt myself. Seeing all your support back then would have meant the world to the Madu I was…
and it means just as much to me now, but this isn’t really about me. It’s about how important it is to support each other. 🤍

A kind comment can mean so much to someone who is still doubting themselves and their skills. So if you ever see a small business owner being trolled or put down, please step up for them. You never know how much your words might mean.

Let’s talk about online hate.🧐

After many years in this industry, I’ve learned not to let comments like this affect me. I’m confident in my work and I know the value of what I create.

But if you’re new to baking, please don’t let messages like this make you doubt yourself. A cake that isn’t someone’s cup of tea doesn’t make you a bad baker.🫶🏼

This cake was left uncollected so I offered it at a heavily discounted price to recover some of the cost. I shared it in local groups simply to reach more people and among all the lovely comments, the one below was also posted.

There is room for everyone in this industry. There are customers for every style, every level and every kind of cake maker — whether you’re just starting out or have been doing this for years.

Keep baking. Keep learning. Keep going. Don’t let someone else’s opinion become your self-doubt. ❤️

It’s a 7” Victoria sponge, usually £75, but I’m happy to let it go for £30. I can also change/remove the name.
