I've been swimming in cupcakes this past week! (Haha, see what I did there!)

My mum and I have boxed up nearly 200 cupcakes, and have been leaving boxes on the doorsteps of key workers. It's been a lot of fun to try out new designs and put a smile on people's faces! 🍰

Things don't always go as planned, and that's okay...

When I started baking this morning, I had a clear vision of what I wanted these cakes to look like. But then I accidentally filled the cases too full so half of them looked like mushrooms by the time they came out of the oven. Then I couldn't get the buttercream colour to what I wanted and my roses weren't looking as elegant as I planned, amongst other things that were going wrong. By this time I wanted to give up and walk away but instead I just changed my original plan and went with something simpler. Finally I managed to produce these.

Sometimes things don't go as planned, but that doesn't mean that everything is wasted and nothing good can come of it. I think this relates quite well to the current situation. I hope that everyone is coping well and staying safe ❤🧁

Sorry for the lack of posting due to the current situation. Hopefully this bright cake makes up for that and brings some...

This may be my favourite cake that I've done so far!

It's pretty simple with only vanilla sponge and swiss meringue buttercream, but I think it looks so elegant and lovely. Plus it was my first time making buttercream roses!🌹🍰
