Good morning to all of my lovely customers.
By now many of you will have hopefully seen the letter I left with your delivery this morning.
Sadly it is true. I’ve been fighting poor health for many months now but had no intention of giving up the round. Infact all of the Christmas products had already been ordered and some I already have in stock!
I’ve loved being back out on the streets looking out for the community, solving crimes and seeing my customers.
However the physio has given it to me straight, I need to stop lifting with the hand that’s had surgery or it’s never going to get better. Combined with other health issues and the fact I stay up for 30 hours straight on the nights I do the round something had to give.
I’ve found myself gaining a session ticket in A&E and I’ve sadly had to make this very difficult decision 😕
That said my good friend Gary and owner of the local N F Collins Dairy just down the road has agreed to step in and assist in the areas his rounds cover.
Sadly this has meant a few areas not being able to be covered however there was already a crossover with rounds in many of the areas I cover.
I’m hoping you will support Gary’s little family business in the way you have mine and help keep a great British tradition alive.
N F Collins have a great team of experienced milkmen and I’m sure they will do all they can to look after you. They of course have a website and you can leave payment out or pay online.
I’ll be busy this week with our website guy making sure all your payments are stopped at the end of this week and Gary’s milkmen will be dropping you information on setting up new payments.
Other than that you won’t need to do nothing. All of your orders will be transferred across including any credit balances.
Any questions in the meantime just let me know.
All that’s left to say is I’m sorry my body has let me down in continuing in the job I love, being your local milkman and the eyes and ears of the community.
Perhaps if I’m a little better by Christmas I’ll see if the N F Collins milkman wants me out with him in my Santa get up spreading some festive cheer.
Let’s see where the next road takes me 🙂
