Every ticket bought will help us keep food flowing on our pantries and community kitchen this winter, help support our community garden and arts and crafts groups, plus increase the number of pantries across Tameside!

£2 will buy someone a hot meal!

£10 will help us provide a family with nutritious food for several days!

£50 enables us to run a cooking class to teach 4 families how to cook food that they can take home to feed their whole family, plus give them skills for the future!

Thank you to Pauline Town for the invitation for The Power of Resilience CIC to join the Homelessness Forum on a regular basis, as one of the key local voluntary organisations in Tameside offering food support to the vulnerable.

This is a true honour and priviledge. Unfortunately we weren't able to attend this time due to staff annual leave, but will prioritise this in future to join with Tameside's strategy moving forward.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in Christ at Big Church Festival 2026.

We pray that every leader, every team member, every participant, every family, every site crew member, and every emergency and health professional will feel surrounded by the strength, peace and unwavering love of Jesus in this moment.

That each undividual will feel hope, even in uncertainty, even in challenge.

We hold onto the truth that Jesus is the light of the world, that as the Church gathers, and communities stand side by side that the Lord's love never fails.

May Lord's Spirit rest gently over the festival grounds and participants as they return home, bringing calm where there is worry, joy where there is heaviness, and unity where there is distance.

We pray that every heart feels uplifted, every weary soul finds rest, and every person involved knows they are seen, valued and deeply loved.

May compassion guide every decision, may resilience steady every step, and may grace cover every moment.

When we cleaned out the pantry at Thompson Cross today we found this lovely punnet of tomatoes with a sticker saying "home grown tomatoes given with God's blessings."

What a beautiful gesture and so precious. Given with love and will be much appreciated by whoever picks it up!

In the last few weeks we've had home grown apples, lettuce, rhubarb and spring onions too! Loving that our growing community are adding to our pantries too now 😍😍😍

Nothing better than home grown produce. 😋

Yesterday we spent all morning working hard in the community wellbeing garden once again getting the weeds under control!

Spiderman swung in for a surprise visit (aka Jonathan) and shared with Lisa Smith about his amazing weightloss and epilepsy surgery journey!

Lisa also had the priviledge of eating our first harvested apple which had fallen from our fruit tree! She said it was 'unlike any other apple I've ever tasted. Sweet, juicy, delicious and full of flavour.'

Our fruit and veg are sun-kissed, organic, pesticide-free and grown in peat-free soil. There's nothing that tastes as fresh as something you've just grown! So if you want to join us in growing and tasting these delights, just get in touch!

We are proud to announce the opening of Broadoak & Smallshaw Community Centre Community Pantry run in collaboration with The Power of Resilience CIC.

This is based at: Broadoak Community Centre, 160 Broadoak Rd, Ashton-under-Lyne OL6 8RS.

This will be open 9am-7pm
Monday to Friday.

Many thanks to Works4U Support Services for the construction and design of this pantry!

Huge thanks also goes to Dr Chris Walsh and The University of Manchester for the funding and support to help us make this pantry possible!

We are really excited to be working with Lindsey Purcell on this new initiative.

Please get in touch with Lindsey or the centre if you'd like to drop off donations or join the team supporting with collections and stock control!
