We are now on our Christmas break 🎄
It’s been a strange year. We started the year off with my husband being made redundant from his job of 14 years. Prior to this I won’t lie I was considering closing my business. I was struggling to stay motivated.
I guess with him losing his job it brought it all to a head. I had to make a decision. Shut up shop or step it up a gear.
Then came VAT and I know everyone thinks if you pay VAT you are making money. Well you were until the government asked for a 20% cut of it! That was a knock I can’t lie.
I lost my EU & NI customers last December and this August over half of my US customers. All for reasons out of my control. Those were two huge blows to us.
I definitely had reasons to call it day but I decided not too. I’ve spent pretty much all of my profit this year having my own range of cupcake boxes made, then we expanded that with our deluxe cupcake box range.
We also had our own bouquet bags made and next year we have our own range of Russian tips coming out, designed by me. I can’t tell you how excited I am for this!!
With loads more products coming too 🩷
I’m proud of myself for pushing through but it’s not been easy. It’s been a year of uncertainty and I’ve had no annual leave this year, I just never felt I could take any. To say I feel burnt out is an understatement but I’m also very proud of what we’ve achieved.
Here’s to next year, hopefully bigger and better. None of it possible at all without my amazing lovely loyal customers. Who I owe so much too. Thank you for your support. It means more than what I can express in words.
