I’m an experienced baker and cake decorator based at Gedney Drove End, near Holbeach in South Lincolnshire. I make cupcakes, celebration cakes, party cakes, and “tea time treats” using good quality ingredients, including free range eggs, to order. I take your specifications and work with your ideas or themes to create cakes individual to you. I will do my best to cater for any special dietary requ

irements, e.g. dairy free, ingredients not including gluten, etc., but please be aware that as I work from my home I cannot guarantee that my cakes will not contain traces of nuts, dairy or gluten. I’ve been baking since I was a small child, encouraged by my mother, and my Nan. From an enjoyable pastime making small cakes and treats for family, I started taking an interest in cake decoration skills and completed a short part-time course whilst I was at college studying other subjects. I enjoyed the course so much I took over the traditional annual making and decorating the family Christmas cake from my father and was hooked! I started making cakes for friends’ parties and birthdays and getting compliments. That was quite some years ago now, but normal life took over and saw me reverting to only making Christmas cake, but then I discovered cupcakes – who knew that you could be quite so creative with these little cakes that we used to call “fairy cakes” when I was young? Again I was hooked – re-visited my love of making big cakes too, friends again started asking me to make them cakes – and here I am!

Happy New Year everyone. Hope to see you soon. Just to let you know, although I applied for a stall at the Holbeach farmers market in February, my application wasn't successful and so I won't be there until the March market, which I have to say is rather a disappointment. I'm sorry to anyone who was expecting to satisfy their carrot cake craving in February. Do remember though that I can make whole cakes to order in the meantime!

After a bit of a break, we're back at the Holbeach Farmers Market this Sunday. We'll be stocked up with our usual favourites like carrot cake, plus some seasonal specials including Christmas cake slices. 10am-2pm at the Holbeach Hub opposite Tescos. Come and see us at stall 20, around to the left as you come into the hall.
