It has been nearly 5 years since I started making cakes as a hobby and almost 3 years since I turned that hobby into a little business. It has been a bit like a roller coaster ride with lots of ups, downs, learning curves and even the odd cake disaster along the way. I can honestly say I have loved every minute of it, but just like a roller coaster eventually the ride has to stop and for The Sweetpea Kitchen that day is today as I am hanging up my apron for the last time. To the customers who have given me the honour of making your cakes and to my lovely followers who have come along for the ride I would like to express my thanks and gratitude as without you I wouldn't have made it this far. Due to unforeseen family circumstances I am sadly no longer able to provide my customers with the quality of service that I have always prided myself on and for that reason I will unfortunately be closing my books. I will of course be honouring all paid orders over the next couple of weeks and I have contacted those customers in question to reassure them I wont leave them without a cake. Thank you once again ~ Lisa x

Unfortunately my working day isn't just about making cakes look pretty along with the baking and decorating is the moutain of paperwork that has to be done to make sure everything is just right. Currently taking a quick lunch break while working my way through messages, putting orders in the diary and sending quotes and invoices. I'm am already almost fully booked for February and only have availability for the weekend of the 11th. March - June is also filling up so if you would like to make a booking please get in touch sooner rather than later. I hate having to turn people away but there are only so many hours in a week ~ Lisa x

Afternoon all I know that due to illness I have been really quite on the page since the back end of last year but I am are still here and working my way through all enquiries etc. If you have sent and enquiry and are waiting for a quote they will be sent out today and if you have had a quote and are waiting for your invoice they will be sent out in the next 48hrs. I am also working my way through the images of all the cakes waiting to be uploaded and will be adding them over the next week or so. If you have had a cake from me and have a picture of it with the birthday boy / girl please feel free to post it to my wall.
