💙 I’m incredibly proud to share that I’ve been featured by the BBC, talking about my journey with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and how it led me to start Cakey Blinders.

When my symptoms first began, I never imagined how much my life would change. Living with FND has brought many challenges, but it has also shown me the importance of resilience, determination, and finding purpose in difficult times.

What started as a love of baking became Cakey Blinders – a business that has given me confidence, creativity, and something positive to focus on throughout my journey.

I’m sharing my story to help raise awareness of FND and to remind others that even when life takes an unexpected turn, your dreams don’t have to stop.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, and to the BBC for helping shine a light on FND.

I’ve gone back and forth about sharing this, but I wanted to because it might help someone else.

Many of you know me through Cakey Blinders and see the cakes, bakes, and smiles behind the business. What you may not know is the health journey I’ve been on behind the scenes.

For a long time, I thought my symptoms were simply migraines. As it turned out, there was much more going on, and it’s been one of the most challenging experiences of my life.

I’m incredibly grateful to Birmingham Mail for sharing my story and helping raise awareness. If my experience encourages even one person to seek medical advice, ask questions, or trust their instincts when something doesn’t feel right, then opening up about it will have been worth it.

This journey has taught me so much about resilience, gratitude, and making the most of every day. It has also strengthened my determination to continue building Cakey Blinders and doing something I love.

Thank you to my family, friends, customers, and everyone who has supported me along the way. Your kindness and encouragement have meant more than you’ll ever know ❤️

📢 🚨Venue Update!

We’re still looking forward to seeing everyone at Birmingham Dog’s Home’s Royal Themed Family Fun Day & Dog Show.

The event has moved from Tudor Grange Park to Birmingham Dogs Home, Catherine-de-Barnes.

The great news is there’s now parking available on site, making it much easier for visitors, families and doggies to attend.

We’ll still be there with our stall and can’t wait to meet you all. You’ll find us next to garrisoncoffeecompany, their award winning coffee will go perfectly with our cakes and bakes!
