Today we have enjoyed music therapy. Residents took it in turns to choose what to play on YouTube. Some residents sang along and others tapped their feet along to the music

We also started making Halloween decorations.

This morning, our residents got creative making lovely bird feeders using recycled toilet roll inners and nourishing lard — we can’t wait to see our feathered friends visit the garden soon! 🌿

This afternoon, it was time for fun and games with our favourite bingo session. Lots of laughter, friendly chat, and a few winners too! 🎟️

What a wonderful day spent together.

Harvest Day at Syne Hills! 🌾🍂

Today was a truly wonderful day here at Syne Hills as we celebrated our very own Harvest Festival with our lovely residents!

This morning, we gathered together to enjoy beautiful hymns and songs celebrating the gifts of the harvest season — it was such a peaceful and uplifting start to the day.

For lunch, our dining room looked absolutely lovely, decorated with colourful harvest artwork created by our residents. It made our shared meal feel extra special and festive.

This afternoon, the fun continued with a round of Autumn Picture Bingo! There were plenty of smiles, friendly competition, and happy chatter all around.

It’s been a beautiful day filled with music, good food, and wonderful company. Thank you to everyone who helped make it so special. 💛

✨ Exciting Update: Transforming Our Living Area ✨

As many of you already know, here at Syne Hills Residential Home we’re nurturing our creative vision and embarking on something wonderful: we are completely refurbishing our main living area!

Our goal is to turn the current space into a calm, tranquil haven — somewhere peaceful and uplifting for everyone. We’re creating a dedicated bar zone and a cosy tuck shop area, where residents can relax, socialise, and feel truly at home.

We’d love your help! 💛

To bring this beautiful space to life, we’re kindly reaching out for donations of any items that could support our project. Things we’d be so grateful for include:
✅ Drink optics & bar accessories/fridges
✅ Soft, warm lighting & lamps
✅ Artificial flowers & greenery
✅ Bar mats, coasters & decor
✅ Any other lovely touches you think would fit perfectly

Every single donation — big or small — makes such a difference and helps us create a happy, calming space our residents will adore.

📸 Please scroll through our photos below to see the space before, our progress during, and the beautiful inspiration guiding our design.

Thank you so much for being part of this journey with us 💙

🍂 Syne Hills Care Home — Daily Update 🍂

Creativity and connection filled our day here at Syne Hills!

This morning, we embarked on a wonderful seasonal project: crafting beautiful autumn tree scenes using real leaves as natural stencils. The results are absolutely stunning — full of warmth, colour, and that special handcrafted charm only nature’s own shapes can bring. We’ve already had such enthusiastic feedback that many more residents have asked to join in and create their own masterpieces tomorrow — we can’t wait! 💛

This afternoon, we enjoyed a lovely, relaxing pamper session too — with residents enjoying gentle manicures, a little bit of self-care, and plenty of smiles and chat along the way. 💅

It’s days like these — full of creativity, calm, and coming together — that make our Syne Hills community so very special.

Watch this space for more of our autumn artwork tomorrow! 🍁
