After a lovely long weekend away with family, I got straight back in the kitchen to work on the next cake! It’s been a football cake theme kind of summer for me!

A request for a young man celebrating his birthday this week. I’d also made a football cake for him last year, but this time the team was different! I wonder who he’ll be supporting next year!

So I got a new toy for my birthday, a tripod stand to allow for better cake content! Tested it out for this football themed cake that left the kitchen yesterday!

This order was for a young man celebrating his 70th birthday yesterday 🎈As a man that loves his lawn, I was asked to include a model of him with his lawnmower and his dog!

Now I’ve made many cakes over the years in warm and cold weather conditions. But I have never made a cake under heat conditions that we’ve experienced this week 🥵 stressful would be an understatement with 2 batches of failed sponges straight in the bin 🤦‍♀️ late nights and early mornings to bake and decorate before the heat was too much! And worrying the cake would melt before it arrived at its destination 🫣

But thankfully the cake survived and made it to the celebration!
