Have Your Cake & Eat It! Why this tagline? Many years ago whilst working in hotels, I was constantly disappointed in the cakes being served for weddings. They always looked beautiful, but I thought 'why does no one make them taste good too?'

That's why I created Baked, I wanted to share my passion for baking & patisserie, whilst also creating something that is so tasty, all the guests rave about

it! Over the years, Baked has evolved, survived Lockdown & even set up a micro bakery. But even though it's changed and evolved, the principles are still the same:
-Ingredient quality matters more than anything. Where possible I always use local & seasonal ingredients so they are the best they can be.
-Baked recipes use traditional craft skills & time tested recipes to create beautiful flavour combinations and twists on childhood classics. All of my recipes have been created to have the perfect balance of flavour, sweetness & texture. I have created all sorts of wonderful bakes, cakes and treats for my customers. I do not define Baked to one set of products, I take enquiries for all sweet or pastry products as my pastry experience covers mostly anything! I love a new challenge, and I love designing and creating new things. So why not send me your ideas and allow me create something that is better than you ever imagined!

PSA: Stop adding flowers to your cakes without preparing them first.

It’s just not as simple as sticking some flowers in and away we go. I have used many ways of preparing fresh florals from taping, clingfilm, foil, posy pics, the list goes on, but one stuck - beeswax. Beeswax capping has been a thing in floristry for years, and it coats the stems of the flowers perfectly and gives a hard and waterproof coating to each stem. Beeswax is naturally antibacterial and created the perfect seal and coating on each stem. Not only does it protect the cake from any contamination or toxic sap, it also keeps the flowers fresh throughout the day to ensure they look as good as they did in the morning.

It is my biggest pet peeve as a cake decorator and with the rise of fresh flowers over sugar flowers, please ensure you prepare them correctly!

Always use a reputable supplier, I got these from .silsden who always brings top notch blooms!

Vintage, but make it square!

It was my pleasure to set up this gorgeous three tier square vintage at last weekend. When Matthew & Charlotte came to me, they only had one real request: that I make their cake! They enjoyed the tasting so much, they smashed through their original ideas and went all out!

First up this stunning vintage square wedding cake, consisting of three tiers of tasty cake.
Then we had the rum & raisin fudge favours which taste absolutely divine with the help of
They ended the night with a showstopper Champagne Tiramisu, set up during the evening party live for all the guests to see.

Professionals make the process easy, they’re reliable, efficient and cover all the details so you don’t have to. Charlotte fully trusted me with the design & boxing of fudge favours, and it is my privilege to have created something special 🥰👩‍🍳

Spend the day with me learning all things chocolate with Mark from alongside some amazing chefs & young talent who won YCOTY.

We started with the theory of chocolate, how it’s grown & produced and some fun facts about chocolate. Did you know out of all the flowers a cacao tree produces, only around 3% are pollinated?
Then we moved into the demo kitchen, learnt about the importance of time, temperature & movement. Mark demonstrated the benefits of testing your chocolate and understanding the beta crystals, instead of just focussing on temperature. I learnt so much about this and equally got to trouble shoot some issues I’ve been having recently.
We then got a tour around Deli fresh warehouse, a sleek and modern system that absolutely blows my mind. The work that goes into getting orders ready for delivery, getting produce in from around the world & organising a humongous warehouse was a learning experience itself!

Thankyou so much for the invite it was a wonderful day of learning, crafting & creating beautiful chocolate bars.

My May Moments in Cake 🥰

Some of my favourite moments of May 👇
👩‍🍳 setting up a wedding cake at then somehow making it to for my first demo
👩‍🍳 4 weddings & a wedding cake recreation - I really loved working with an old cake design as I learnt it then the trends changed
👩‍🍳 delivering a chocolate decorated cake on the hottest day of the year! Well done to for getting it home safely!
👩‍🍳 tiramisu tower - enough said 😍
👩‍🍳 the photoshoot that led to me to almost never make cakes again (I’ll explain when I feel I can! Let’s just say measure before delivery Emma!) 🤣
👩‍🍳 collaborating with & to showcase the best of yorkshire produce
👩‍🍳 I’ve travelled a lot - the Lake District, Preston, Wakefield, Yorkshire Dales & Lancashire. It’s so lovely to have customers who are not only local but will travel hours to collect cakes, attend tastings and have me be part of there celebrations 🥰🥰
👩‍🍳 learning new skills & creating a rose basket cake
👩‍🍳 somehow, managed to complete 3 peaks after two days of setting up and finishing 2 wedding cakes, an accomplishment I’ve been wanting to achieve for a while. The time on the hills gave me time to reflect on life, and some changes need to be made.
👩‍🍳 lots of birthdays, weddings & collaborations. It’s been my busiest & most organised month I’ve had!
👩‍🍳 I’ve had more days off this month than I have since November

Throughout my entire career I’ve struggled with balance. Balance between the love I have for my job, and the love I have for life outside the job. I feel as I get older I’m coming to terms with not being constantly busy, it’s a strange thing when you’ve always worked 100 hour weeks. But as I grow, I’ve noticed time with my family, friends and doing things I love allows me the time I need to rest, reflect & reminds me why I do it all. A business without balance is just another job, and at times I created myself a job I hated.

Thankyou to everyone who makes this possible, especially my Fiancé & Family who support me, clean, wash up & pack orders with me 🫶

Where bridgerton elegance meets modern day romance.

When your cake matches your styling, it becomes more than a cake. It becomes a moment, a centrepiece that blends without stealing the show, and a memory that lasts forever.

Set up
Cake Flavours:
✨Pistachio, Dark Chocolate &
✨Classic Carrot Cake
✨Sacher Torte (an absolute winner for a wedding cake!)

Tiramisu was a classic coffee and rum & raisin fudge favours 👩‍🍳❤️

Anyone else dying? 🥵🔥☀️

Last week drew in the bank holiday in a grand fashion! Lots of cakes for last week, a fabulous wedding on Saturday filled with love & laughter and a recreation of someone’s wedding cake from 40 years ago! Then to end the crazy busy week I thought let’s do the yorkshire three peaks 🤣 (did complete it though!!)

As always, it’s a privilege to be a part of your special celebrations and thankyou SO MUCH for choosing me.

This week is a little slower, and I’m glad for it. Heat + POTS = dead Emma. I’ve got a lovely 18th birthday cake and a fabulous cake for the weekend, and lots of prep for next weeks cakes.

I will be posting about Father’s Day chocolates & afternoon teas shortly.

My first class will be ARTISAN BREAD FOR BEGINNERS on 28th June, followed by a few July classes & children’s workshops.

Between September - December I won’t be accepting any new orders due to me needing some time away from cakes to rest my busy brain.

Hey all! Honesty post… 👀

I’ve got a confession to make…. I quit my job with immediate effect last week…

Whilst I stand my ground and I did the right thing, the anxiety is starting to kick in that I don’t have an income 😂

I have so many amazing orders booked in this year that I’m truly grateful for, and I’ve got a fantastic opportunity lined up in August which will allow me and my family to grow in a way I never imagined we could. So it’s not all doom and gloom at all! My business is thriving, I’ve just found abit more time. But in all honesty, right now, I need sales, I won’t lie to you at all.

I really need the help of this wonderful community to boost my page, engagement & sales.

I already have some great ideas in the pipeline, such as weekly treat boxes, return of the infamous doughnuts and group baking classes & courses. But if there’s anything I’m missing, please drop a comment below!
