My May Moments in Cake 🥰
Some of my favourite moments of May 👇
👩🍳 setting up a wedding cake at then somehow making it to for my first demo
👩🍳 4 weddings & a wedding cake recreation - I really loved working with an old cake design as I learnt it then the trends changed
👩🍳 delivering a chocolate decorated cake on the hottest day of the year! Well done to for getting it home safely!
👩🍳 tiramisu tower - enough said 😍
👩🍳 the photoshoot that led to me to almost never make cakes again (I’ll explain when I feel I can! Let’s just say measure before delivery Emma!) 🤣
👩🍳 collaborating with & to showcase the best of yorkshire produce
👩🍳 I’ve travelled a lot - the Lake District, Preston, Wakefield, Yorkshire Dales & Lancashire. It’s so lovely to have customers who are not only local but will travel hours to collect cakes, attend tastings and have me be part of there celebrations 🥰🥰
👩🍳 learning new skills & creating a rose basket cake
👩🍳 somehow, managed to complete 3 peaks after two days of setting up and finishing 2 wedding cakes, an accomplishment I’ve been wanting to achieve for a while. The time on the hills gave me time to reflect on life, and some changes need to be made.
👩🍳 lots of birthdays, weddings & collaborations. It’s been my busiest & most organised month I’ve had!
👩🍳 I’ve had more days off this month than I have since November
Throughout my entire career I’ve struggled with balance. Balance between the love I have for my job, and the love I have for life outside the job. I feel as I get older I’m coming to terms with not being constantly busy, it’s a strange thing when you’ve always worked 100 hour weeks. But as I grow, I’ve noticed time with my family, friends and doing things I love allows me the time I need to rest, reflect & reminds me why I do it all. A business without balance is just another job, and at times I created myself a job I hated.
Thankyou to everyone who makes this possible, especially my Fiancé & Family who support me, clean, wash up & pack orders with me 🫶
