My largest textile so far and definitely red squirrels are my soul animals. Funny how it has taken so long to appear in one of my textile collages. Well here they are a centrepiece of this woodland adventure. 5 languages, not fluent in all of them but they are my daily bred and my passion as much as stitching is. There are blue clouds and large pine cones, a huge space for jumping freely. The textile is large in size, took me forever to complete, lined in vintage Laura Ashley. It hangs through loops and you can insert a bamboo stick or a wooden pole. It would look delightful on a wall together with a small animal collection. Available.

Hazel and Horace are back on Etsy. Vintage fabrics and wool felt, hand stitched details. Please note Hazel drinks tea, mostly, especially home brewed, and likes to see the leaves and small twigs in her cup for that special reading, the future in a cup. But be warned, she doesn’t always get it right. Horace is always by her side as he is stitched onto her hand and foot. As I said before: a friend on a stick.
I don’t know about you but I love pumpkins, on the fields and to eat.

Some of my cats, big and small created with snippets of vintage Japanese kimonos. Wearable art that has spread its wings or better said stretched its legs far and wide in the world. Thanks Manon Gauthier for the nice photo and for adopting my little creature.

A new Boro inspired amulet. My mermaid Marion is trying it in and I think she looks great, the pendant textures suit her well. All vintage kimonos and some lovely cork fabric. I like this length, I tried with many things today and it gives that little extra to many outfits. Heading to Etsy.

So much inspiration from the studio Gibli production. There’s storytelling, fantasy, magic all in a unique blend of originality.
So obviously this new small personal take on Boro textiles is inspired by “Ponyo”. A fish who decides to become human. In the story there’s so much more, poetic, funny, colourful. What is life without a pinch of magic?
I loved working in this piece which in a way reminds of the “Water babies”, 1930s cartoons, a time that’s long gone.
All vintage kimonos, felt, Sashiko, hanging on a real leather loop and always stitched with love. The call of the sea is strong and wild, hope you feel it too.

Finally spring and couldn’t let it pass without stitching one of my bunnies with long feet! Boro inspired choice of fabrics, lots of blues from vintage kimonos. He has a polka dot h**p tunic and a thoughtful face. Is it really spring already, he’s thinking. Where does the time goes🌱 A leather loop for hanging and signed at back.

The cherry tree girl with her flowing mane took a walk in a park with me this morning where it was a balmy 24 degrees. So now I have a couple, a girl and a boy. Because life it’s so much sweeter and palatable when everyday is shared with another one. You can see them together, birds of a feather.

My cloth doll Maja is back on Etsy with the usual link on profile or please message if you prefer. Inspired by my trips in Eastern Poland and the Folk art details I find so captivating. Irresistible big green eyes, this lady of a certain age has great knowledge of the forest and can pick the right mushrooms which are tasty and harmless. She has one in her pocket ready to throw in the pot. Unlike me, who adore mushrooms, but never confident enough to eat what I find. Special price for an everlasting treasure.

SOLD- The year of the rabbit: May it be full of colours, health ,stability, awareness. A big leap towards more happiness, the one that grows inside, slowly like a burning fire. I have made a series of blue bunnies over the years, both painted or stitched. This one is available. It measures 19x17.5 cm. It’s very tactile, with details hand dyed with a light batch of indigo and Japanese persimmon juice ( Kakishibu). A blue bunny and his windmill. I love windmills, so much. Perhaps he’s a baker. Lined in vintage ticking.

Finally I have two prints available of two of my ever favourite works. Two Folk takes from Eastern Europe, full of magic, cunning, wisdom. Peasants who outwit misfortune and live happily ever after. “ The magic mill” which delivers whatever you ask for and the “Golden cockerel” which as the name suggests is a bringer of gold. Both prints are printed on 300g slightly textured paper in different sizes.
