Oxfords Bakery We’re Oxford’s. A fourth-generation family bakery, baking in Dorset since 1911. Pop in for bread, bakes, coffee and a proper chat.

Six shops across Dorset, everything baked fresh every day using local ingredients we know and trust. The bakery itself has been standing for well over 200 years. Frank and Olive Oxford bought the village bakehouse in Alweston, near Sherborne, and they began our journey in September of 1911. The ovens we use today were installed in 1921. Our largest dough mixer, the last working one of its kind any

where in the world, is 75 years old. The terracotta tiled floors and whitewashed walls are a step back in time, but the dedicated bakers and skills learnt from generations past, within these walls, are what carry us ahead into the future.

Bakery open! Come on over on to Alweston , on bank holiday Monday we’ll be open for coffee, buns and all the rest. Will open the bakery for a couple hours for a look about if you like. Prob 10-1.

All shops open except Sherborne on the Monday too xx

Hello all…. Quick update and news….
Alweston shop will be C C C CLOSED on Monday ONLY. Just cos we need to switch the electrics off for our 20th and final re wire ! Then I’m gonna have a bit of a bash on an odd day like bank hol Monday with a few give aways just to give the place some spirit as it’s been a brilliant start. Only taken 2 and a half years! 🙄😉😂
