How’s your week going? We’re squirrelling away with various projects this week - sending stationery designs to print and booking in some brand spanking new couples 🤍

Our bespoke design process currently takes around three weeks and we are limiting the number of couples we work with this year. To secure a design date all you need to do is pay a small deposit and then you can be sure your date is booked and ready to go. We hate turning people away so you can visit our wedding website for more details and fill out our contact form right there.

Can we just talk about the ACTUAL cost of wedding stationery please?

When we were married 10 years ago we were fortunate enough to design our own invites 👆🏼(well we always would have wouldn’t we?!) The cost of printing was really our only outlay but if you’re looking to work with a designer on a bespoke project for 150 quid, it ISN’T going to happen.

Why?

A bespoke stationery suite is not a collection of random bits of paper.

~ There’s the time spent responding to an enquiry and sending quotes.
~ Time spent on design consultations either face to face or online.
~ Time spent gathering inspiration and drafting initial concepts.
~ Time spent making necessary amends and tweaks.
~ Print costs which are now the highest they’ve ever been. The average print run is now around £200 and this goes directly to the printing company.
~ Card stock costs which are also now the highest they’ve ever been!
~ Packaging time and costs.
~ Addition of added elements such as wax seals, vellum wrapping, envelope liners etc.
~ Postal charges.
~ Time spent hand delivering wedding packages where possible.

And so it goes on!

We do this because we want you to have a beautiful experience. We do this because we want you to have a piece of something special for your day but we can’t do this for the same price as a DIY project. The numbers just don’t add up.

If you’re being quoted this price then there should be red flags waving as it’s simply not feasible to create a product of any quality for this price - any business charging this will be working at a loss EVERY single time.

We want you to have the very best and we’ll make sure this is exactly what you get 😘

There is a whole lot of sunshine out there today and this wedding stationery suite is busting with ALL the spring vibes! Fran & Andrew’s wedding day is going to be absolutely glorious!

Ah lovely weddings! We’ve not forgotten about you!
We’ve been balancing both our brand & web design biz and our wedding stationery business between the two of us and so far it’s worked pretty well. We both have our own individual ‘skills’ so we’re able to stay firmly in our own lane! God forbid I should utter the words, ‘let me do that?!’

We have now decided though that we’ll be taking on a very limited number of weddings this year and no summer bookings (except for our lovely couples who will be booking their on the day stationery)

There’s no way we want to sacrifice the quality of what we do by spreading ourselves too thinly and everyone who works with us should get the very best of us. Maybe not at 7 o clock on a Friday night though. We draw the line there!

Would you? Could you? Elope I mean.

When you’re in the midst of wedding planning, listening to a million and one opinions and run ragged trying to DIY 3000metres of handmade bunting/ garlands/ all manner of decor items, it can feel a bit much.

An elopement would never have worked for us as - we like a big party too much but I can definitely see the appeal. Choosing somewhere really beautiful to say your vows and then somewhere fabulous (and eye wateringly expensive for dinner) actually sounds pretty amazing.

Did it ever cross your mind and where would you do it?

Au Revoir 2021

We tentatively stepped into 2021 not really knowing what to expect. Plans changed, dates moved and although there was a sprinkling of normality, uncertainty reigned.

It wasn’t easy for us, or our couples.

Despite this, we feel so proud to be a part of this industry; an industry which has shown the true meaning of resilience and what it means to be completely dedicated to bringing happiness to their couples.

Because of these amazing people, we achieved our first industry award, collaborated with some of the absolute best in the business and created stationery which brought a little joy (and often a few tears too.)

It’s been quite a ride but one we’re not ready to jump off yet - so let’s buckle up and get back on board because we’re ready for you 2022.🎉

Well this week hasn’t quite panned out how we’d planned and we’ve ended up going back into the Studio. Might as well use up the hours in the best possible way and it means we’ve finished up some rather gorgeous weddings before the start of the new year.

I read a lovely post by (who happens to be a beautiful wedding stationer and human being) yesterday. She hit the nail on the head when she said that we’re all just going to have to ride it out this Christmas. If plans change, so be it. If we can’t do ‘normal,’ then do something else instead. The only really important thing is that we stay safe. And drink wine.

CHRISTMAS UPDATE!
I can’t actually believe it’s Christmas Day next weekend. It only seems like five minutes since we put the tree up but then we did celebrate the festivities with our family in July so that’s probably why?!

Our little studio will be closed from tomorrow (16th) and will reopen on the 5th of January so we can have some ‘proper’ time off. We’ve had no real down time since Christmas last year so we are ready for it.

Tomorrow we will be celebrating the end of a crazy year with our annual office party. No Boris you’re not invited but my Mum and Dad fancied popping along so that’s a whopping 4 of us 😂

If you’re starting to wind down then I’m raising a gin to you - if you’re, not well I’m cheering you on to the finish line. Lots of love 😙

When we went to collect our own wedding stationery I wasn’t expecting to feel the way I did. We’d obviously designed our own invites and had been pouring over them for weeks - when it came to collecting them from the printers we were sick of the sight of them.

I definitely didn’t expect to cry but there’s just something about seeing your names side by side in print - words that can’t be erased or deleted, there for the world to see, making a statement.

When the planning process all gets a bit much and you’re battling with the sheer overwhelm, this little piece of card can bring you right back down to a centred place. These words can direct you back to the whole reason you embarked on this path in the first place - sharing your togetherness amongst those most special.

Seeing lovely words like this in our inbox also reminds us why we do what we do. We want to bottle up the feeling we had when we collected our own stationery and pass the bottle onto our glorious couples. That’s the way it has to be.
