Time for a little break! The kitchen is closed for the next week while I enjoy some holiday time with my boys.

They say if your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough and today, I'm feeling a bit of both! 💫👷🏼‍♀️

Today, the builders are here and building work has officially started on my new cake studio! This has been in the background since last summer when I applied for planning as I was outgrowing my home kitchen

The timing felt perfect as my little boy started school in September and I moved from part time to full time hours and if I'd outgrown my kitchen while being part time there was no doubt I needed more space.

Fun fact for those who don't know his initials are JVB which inspired my business name.

The house is currently in chaos as everything from the garage moved indoors, including bakery items that were stored in boxes in the garage and my bakery fridge.

Cheers to new chapters and a lot less dust in my future! 🥂

Everything about this day was magic ✨ I've received the photos and I'm stunned with how beautiful they are.

Effortlessly elegant, this semi naked design was finished with white chocolate ganache and beautiful blooms from which really brought the vision to life.

Top tier - Vanilla bean sponge with strawberry basil buttercream and strawberry conserve
Middle tier - Signature rich chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream
Bottom tier - Zesty lemon sponge with juicy lemon buttercream and raspberry conserve

🌹As featured in the 100th edition of Your Midlands Wedding! 🌹

We've been featured for a styled shoot conceived and brought to life by by at the beautiful Bleaklow Farm by and just look how stunning the overall results are ❤️

The mood board was beautiful but the reality.... Well it's better than I think any of us could imagine.

When I saw the moodboard I had visions of edible flowers and the lovely team at really hit the mark and brought my ideas to life, all set against a backdrop of crisp white fondant to really highlight the natural beauty.

All the suppliers brought the vision to life beautifully and could not have wished for a better team. Details below for all the suppliers, please go check out their work

Throwback to February 2024 when I delivered this cake that H & A designed to .fun

The family of the nearlyweds who were due to get married, reached out asking if I could help create a small wedding cake, for two weeks later! Up to this point they hadn't planned to have a cake, and with a little help from family and myself we made it happen.

This was completely designed by H&A and the fondant hearts were coloured taupe and burgundy to match their suits, crisp white fondant and gold fondant bow and matching gold pearls and star sprinkles to bring it to life.

A fun and lovely design completely personal to them and I think the cake matched the design perfectly.

The newlyweds were very impressed at how I'd brought their vision to life ❤️

Flavour - vanilla bean sponge filled with vanilla bean buttercream and raspberry conserve covered in white chocolate ganache underneath the fondant.

Hi everyone, has disabled my business profile, unsure how they decided I'm not eligible for a business profile when I have 30+ 5 star reviews and have been a business on Google since 2021.

I've submitted evidence to appeal the decision but it can take a few days to respond and unfortunately there is no way to speak or contact a human about this.

All orders and bookings are safe, I'm working through enquiries at the moment however lost a lot of admin time dealing with this so far today.

If you haven't had a reply to emails by tomorrow lunchtime, please give me a nudge.

My website, emails, insta and Facebook all are working fine it's only the Google business profile that's disappeared.

Earlier this week my little giant turned 4, he's Bluey obsessed and all I've heard, for what feels like forever, is I'd like a Bluey cake Mama, when asked what flavour he wanted he was very clear it was chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream and raspberry but blue on the outside.

Bluey and family were not my usual fondant characters due to booking a rather last minute and very large wedding exhibition the day after his party however as I love sugar modelling, one day when I find time, i'll give them a go.

He was delighted and that smile when he saw it was one I won't forget. His friends all took home individually boxed cupcakes with Bluey themed toppers and I've had plenty of photos of them being eaten/enjoyed/worn 😃

It's been a 'fun' week here at JVB, a few of my lovely brides to be pointed out they'd not been receiving my emails and some had their emails bounced back

I think I've cured my pesky email issues now, I will not be emailing after midnight just in case it starts feeding them again 😉

I've emailed all enquiries I've received in last few days, I believe I've contacted anyone that I was waiting for a reply from or has a cake due soon, I've also reached out to any enquiry that their cake date hasn't passed yet so please check your emails and spam folders and if you haven't had a reply drop me a DM here, email again or WhatsApp me.

Thanks for your patience and understanding and let's hope I won't have to make 80's movies references again anytime soon 🤞

Wedding Taster Boxes are now available. Your cake is a significant part of your day, the photos of cutting your cake and feeding one another that first bite will be a cherished memory for the rest of your lives, plus a talking point for many of your guests to reminisce over how beautiful your cake was, how well it represented you as a couple and how delicious your cake was AND they couldn't believe it was vegan!

Most of my couples, until recently, had tried my cakes before booking me and booked me purely because they loved my flavours and like my easy going approach. I'm now being approached by new customers who have yet to try my bakes and in my opinion you should taste before you book, these taster boxes give you a chance to taste 6 of my flavours (the menu is much longer) but gives you a great feel for my bakes and style.

This is your day and your cake should be as unique as you both are without compromise, no choosing style over substance. What does your dream cake look and taste like? Do you want sugar flowers? A non traditional theme or colour? How are you making your cake your own? I have so many individual and quirky cakes booked in and I love that I can help my couples bring their dream cake to life, please don't settle for a non vegan baker that has one vegan option

While these are advertised as wedding taster boxes they are available to buy if you want a good cake fix

As an introductory offer these are £25* however this will be deducted off your final bill when you book with me

I have availability for 2023 (date dependant) as I only take on a limited number each month to give each creation the time they deserve. Bookings have started for 2024
