🍰 TASTING SAMPLES 🍰

When you book us to create your wedding cake, we'll send you a box of delicious samples to try.

Six cake flavours, two traditional all-butter Scottish shortbread biscuits and two pieces of Scottish tablet, delivered to your door.

These boxes are also available if you haven't booked with us yet, or even if you're not getting married and just fancy a treat!

Sadly, this batch is all accounted for. The good news is that there will be more in the spring, so stay tuned and we'll let you know when they're available.

🚨 CONFESSION TIME 🚨

Here she is, the Samhain (Halloween) wedding cake, without the ghostly filter, exactly as I created her, unaltered in any way . . . BUT . . . the background in this picture was made in an app which uses AI. First time I've done it, and I feel a wee bit uncomfortable about that.

Why? I'm a cake designer with very limited photography skills! I want to show my cakes in their best light. However, in my home workspace, in Scotland, in October, without any kind of 'proper' photography setup (it's just me, a cloth backdrop and my phone), that can be challenging. But it really matters to me that I show what I do honestly.

So . . . is it ok to alter the photo to show off the cake? Is AI in this instance any different to a multitude of other photo editing options out there?
I'm not sure.
Maybe I'm just showing my age and need to get up to speed with using technology 😆.

I'm a winter chick, I have snowman DNA, but even I have to concede that autumn has the best colours.

This palette of rich red, pink, plum and feiry orange was a dream to work with, and it really pops against the white cake. Add in the relief detail and you have a showstopping seasonal centrepiece.

All of these flowers and foliage are handcrafted from edible wafer paper, meaning they'll carry on looking this beautiful long after autumn has faded into the winter frost.

In fact, there are at least two on this cake which can be toxic.

Why have we used them?

Because these are our handcrafted flowers and leaves, made from food safe, edible wafer paper.

As we transition from summer to autumn, it's a joy to watch nature's colours changing by the day, and this cake sits perfectly between the seasons.

Handcrafted wafer paper flowers and foliage; a simple colour pallette of green and white, with just a hint of the autumnal hues to come; and gentle waves to bring a little movement.
