Kilwinning Fire station Roadworks at Stevenston Road A738
To be removed early.
Thank you to everyone who has been in touch re these roadworks while this road is managed by Amey I’ve had to get involved as your councillor based on the level of delays.
I’ve been in discussions on your behalf with SPN who are providing an electric supply to the housing development at Byrehill.
It has become obvious that the developer is not ready for the supply so the traffic lights will be removed tonight and the road reopened.
SPN will return in July for a further 4 day period to finish the works at the location but with a much reduced occupancy of the roadway (estimated)
The original works we’re scheduled for 15 working days so I hope you’ll agree that this is the best solution for the moment and allow the works to progress later rather than wait for the housing developer to be ready.

Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused. I have spoken to our contractors, Glenelly, who confirmed they will speak to the operative on site.
I can also confirm that the traffic management currently in place will be removed by close of play today.
