Before and after shots. Our 100% allergen free Pasties are bake from frozen, and in special ovenproof bags to prevent cross contamination. The bags vent during cooking so we always get nice brown crisp pastry. As we say in Cornwall....’tis ‘ansome.

In addition to Cornish Pasty Week it’s also week. We make individual bread rolls so there’s no waste. Perfect for a bacon butty or accompaniment to a nice bowl of soup. We can do these individually wrapped for wholesale customers to eliminate cross contamination risks.

It’s yippeeeee. Last year we launched our deal where for every you bought we matched it and gave these to homeless people. It ran all year and had fabulous support especially from Sir Robert Geoffrey Pre School in Landrake. The kids raised enough money to buy 40 Pasties, which we matched and sent out 80 Pasties to the homeless. Huge thanks to Staff at the school for supporting this project.
This year we will look to support food banks in the county. More news on that as the week goes on.

Scotch egg giving me the eye this morning.....think I know how lunch is gonna look 😀 yummy. The honey roast sausage meat is made just for us in St Dominick, the eggs are from Pillaton and the breadcrumb is our own. Local food tastes the best. Available to our wholesale customers now.

I know my prices are good but didn’t realise just how good. I’ve done a quick price comparison with Sainsbury’s and you can see for yourself. No plastic and I’m an independent store but still cheaper. Please share this far and wide.

Looking through a family recipe book from 1920 I found this. Two things attracted me to this recipe. Firstly any cake that needs a qtr of a pint of Brandy is always gonna be a winner. Secondly what sort of measure is a ‘do do’

It’s a Cornish Pasty kind of day here. Filled with Bavette Steak (the best end of the skirt), Potato, Onion, Swede lightly seasoned just as it should be. Squash are fantastic this time of the year. We turn ours into sweet Jaffa cakes. Scrumptious, light as air sponge, orange layer topped with Cacao.

Very interesting article attached, highlighting the difficulties of eating out when you have allergies. It also raises so many questions about why are food providers running scared. Could it be the recent high profile court cases such as Pret a Manger?
