This is such a true post. I love baking for people but it gets awkward when it comes to charging as most people have no idea what the true value of a bespoke cake costs. I mostly limit myself to friends and family as making this a full time business would never pay!

The kitchen was closed for the summer for an extension so no cakes for a couple of months as our entire kitchen was squeezed into the lounge.

It’s up and running again now and along with my regular cafe orders what better way to reopen than with a mega cake to celebrate SP2 cafe’s birthday! This was three 12” Madeira sponge cakes sandwiched together to make one 18” x 24” cake to be served after church to celebrate 6 years of service to the community.

This cake was for a Harry Potter fanatic! Dobby was hand painted onto a chocolate fudge cake and a fondant Ravenclaw house scarf draped around it. All gluten free and no-one noticed the difference!
