The only tool you’ll ever need for professional beekeeping.

With this bad boy, you can “manage” hundreds of hives with absolutely no knowledge… and without even leaving the sofa.

This is my tool (Gareth), but other models are available.
You’ll find them in fields, in any weather, looking mildly feral and claiming it’s “a quick check”.

Behind the scenes on a Saturday night…

While I’m running a nice, relaxing bubble bath, Gareth is at his desk working hard on his latest obsession: using AI to remove every annoyance from his life (except me).

He’s currently coding away at his (slightly untidy) desk, with the dog glued to his side as usual.

First win: receipt filing.
Receipts now get scanned, AI reads them, and they’re automatically filed in the right place with the right filename—pulled from the info on the receipt.

Today’s project: hive notes.
The plan is for Gareth to wear headphones while inspecting a hive and simply dictate his notes. The AI then pulls the key info from the transcript and fills it into our custom hive-note form.

By the end of the day, every apiary will have a digital sheet with notes from every hive.

And next time he’s in the hive? He’ll be able to ask (through his headphones) for the notes from the last inspection—hands-free.

Overkill for a hobbyist? Maybe.
A total game-changer for a bigger beekeeper with max 5 minutes per hive (including notes)? Absolutely.

Finding yourself stood inside a swarm is a once in a lifetime event for most people so I wanted to share what the bees do inside the swarm looking to settle and land. The bees land on every surface…I can’t explain why but it would be great to know??

You were taught that a swarm follows the queen into a box.

Sometimes it’s the other way round.

In real life, the colony often “moves in” first — and the queen simply follows the crowd. Bees don’t do chaos… they do democracy. Scouts make the case, the swarm votes with their feet, and once the decision’s made, the whole group commits.

That’s why we don’t panic if we don’t spot the queen in the first few scoops. If the bees are happily piling into the hive, she’ll be along in a moment.

In fact, if you place the queen at the entrance, she’ll walk in after them — not lead them.

Turns out even a queen can’t beat a strong committee decision.

A brief introduction to us and what we do. Treatment free beekeepers selling hyper local honey directly to the public online or in our little shop in Sale Moor. You watch the two of us during the process of caring for the bees all year and taking a honey harvest at the end.

Which Manchester postcode tastes sweetest today? 🍯

Our bees have been busy across South Manchester, and each apiary brings its own little flavour story. Sale is bright and citrusy, Urmston leans fruity and caramel, and Altrincham brings a lovely wildflower edge.

Raw, local, and never supermarket-shy.

Pop into the shop or order online to taste your postcode. Bee quick, when a flavour’s gone, it’s gone until next harvest.

Ever wondered how honey gets from hive to jar? 🍯

Gareth’s lifting a frame straight from our South Manchester hive, and yes, the bees do most of the hard work while we try not to look too clumsy. Louise is in the background keeping an eye on the harvest like the boss she is.

It’s all raw, local, and gently extracted to keep that proper Manchester flavour. Pop a comment if you’d like to see the next stage, or come visit us in the shop.

One of our very first swarm-collection videos — and it’s a proper Manchester moment.

This bunch had decided a traffic light in the city centre was the perfect place to “house-hunt” from… which was fine until they started causing a bit of chaos for passing pedestrians (especially the ones who didn’t spot them before going to press the crossing button).

Luckily, Gareth popped them safely into a new home — no bees harmed, no humans stung, just a lot of confused commuters.

If you love seeing how we handle swarms in the city, hit follow and drop a “BUZZ” in the comments — and we’ll share more swarm call-outs.

We only sell to the public via our shop or our website. We do not have stockists or sell at markets. Mostly because 8 hours at a market in rain or sun is just too much when you are as chatty as me.

Our bestsellers are all in stock. Soft set honey is flying off the shelves and we are down to the last 60 jars. M41 Urmston fruity honey is the usual best seller and is in stock. All others are running low so we focussed on the most popular.
