A few cakes from the last week as the season slowly turns from summer into autumn.

All gloriously decorated with the stunning flowers grown Prideaux Walled Garden

Kea plum and cardamon, fig leaf and olive oil, and a beetroot and chocolate cake; also affectionately now called the “Helena’ cake.

One of the highlights of the week was being asked to make a cake for a lovely couple who were having a gathering to celebrate their recent wedding….whilst at the same time also meeting Helena Bonham Carter who asked questions about the cake I was making….
I’m sorry we were so hopeless and playing it cool that we didn’t even offer you a drink Helena 🖤

Earlier on in the year I was lucky enough to be involved in a wedding shoot Eco Park, Porthtowan with some of Cornwall’s leading creatives and suppliers in the wedding biz.

The brief was to reimagine the Mediterranean in a Cornish setting whilst maintaining the ethos of the Eco Park, Porthtowan creating a wedding working in harmony with the environment and not costing the earth.

The cake was vegan, and the flowers the first of the season, were grown locally by Perdita griffith-gilham and Prideaux Walled Garden

From the festival fields hanging out with the collective that I’m so proud to be a part of, to the tranquility of in Padstow.
May has been a hectic month of non stop baking!
But a record number of tums have been kept happy with cakey goodness which fills me with endless joy 🩷

It’s that time of year again!!
The challenge is on to spread some festival cake LOVE 🩷 Really it’s just an excuse for us to kick off our shoes, escape the kitchen and spend three days barefoot in the fields with THE best people!

We are beyond excited to announce that we will be heading back to the in the beautiful grounds of Scorrier House.
It’s going to be a weekend filled with a fabulous variety of live music, acts, quality entertainment, creative workshops and exuberant happenings.
You’ll find us inside the Market, where you can expect a hand picked selection of vintage & handmade fashion & accessories, contemporary craft & design, sustainable lifestyle inspiration and retro finds.

A decorated loaf cake scattered with a few seasonal flowers makes THE perfect gift for a low key birthday. Understated, but still delivers something extra spesh for your loves 🌸

Also, I’m totally obsessed with these peachy quince flowers 🍑 Who knew that quinces produced the most dreamy flower.?! I was lucky enough to get my hands on a few which are growing in Padstow.

If you haven’t discovered the walled garden yet make it top of your list of things to do. It’s a total sanctuary. You can sit amongst the flowers, whilst enjoying seasonal dishes and delicious wine with a view of Padstow. Prideaux’s ethos is firmly rooted in sustainability and everything grown in the garden is used on the menu 🌱
