We have jumped up quite a few followers over the weekend.
We would just like to say another heartfelt thankyou to everyone who has sent messages, we have had so many it would take us all day to reply individually, So just putting a post to say thankyou.

We have had a weekend full of support from family and friends, and now we are in full silage swing and enjoying the big round yellow thing in the sky.

As much as we don’t want to sound ungrateful we really can’t take your offers of gifts and go fund me’s.
We just posted to show how hard things can be for farmers.

The best thing you can do to help support is buy from and support your local farm, shops, and back British farming 🙏

We would just like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who has commented and messaged us with their support, it has truly meant a lot.
Reading through them all has been overwhelming.
We honestly didn’t think our post would have gone as big as it has.
Everyone has got different views on farming and tb, and no one is to say who is right and who is wrong.

Thankyou once again 🙏

edited to say: Thankyou all for your kind words and messages, the response to this post has been overwhelming. We didn't think it would be shared so much. We didn't post to blame anything or anyone, just to show the reality of what's happening, and the impact it can have.
We have limited commenting now so we can sit down and have a proper read through everything. Thankyou all once again.

The harsh reality of tb
We aren’t looking for sympathy with our recent posts, we just want to make others aware of the effects tb has on a family farm.
This morning our 34 reactors left the farm. (We still have some cattle left and they are to be tested every 60 days until no reactors).
We have 2 calves from our beef herd with no mum to feed them naturally (their mums have both left this morning with tb), heartbroken children watching the cattle leave the farm in the lorry. A devastated farmer, that has spent his entire life living and working this farm to watch it slipping away, without any say in it, just having to be told what’s happening.
We are going to have to diversify, we have to, to give our children the opportunity to be able to farm and produce for our country.

Sad times for us, as the majority of our dairy cows leave this week due to our tb breakdown.
The remaining dairy cows will continue to feed the calves and we don’t know how much we will have left to be collected by the milk tanker, so for us it’s another new thing in having to now buy our milk😢.

Thank you all for your kind messages and comments regarding our tb breakdown.
Although it’s extremely hard, we are trying not to let it get us down too much and are strong believers that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade 🙏🍋

14 months ago, we were hit with a positive tb reading. In that 14 months we have lost 130 cattle to tb. Today we had another bad result where another 34 will now be culled, due to tb. This is hitting us hard and is having a huge impact on us here on the farm, to the point we aren’t sure when this will stop and if we will be left with any cattle here on the farm. It is definitely a tough time for us at the moment, and we are all trying to keep strong.

This boy!!
He has to be one of the most hardworking young men we know. At almost 14, He’s always busy working on the farm, whether he’s helping with cattle, sheep, poultry, dogs, or sorting fencing, he’s always busy on the farm. He gets up early to check livestock before school, and can’t wait to get home to start again after school. He is a member of the local young farmers club, and tries to get there when he can if he’s not sorting sheep, cattle or collecting new poultry.
There is definitely no place like home for Thomas. He’s truly a little marvel.

Today our sheep are being moved to the top horses field.
We respectfully ask you please keep dogs on leads around this area.
We know the sheep are cute and will baa at you but please keep out of the field and do not feed them, as they have plenty of grass.
Thank you from team Tregonhay
