People often ask me which cake is my favourite.✨

Truthfully?

It’s rarely the prettiest one.

It’s usually the one that scared me the most. 😅

This cake had everything going for it…

✨ Gluten free
✨ Dairy free
✨ A milestone birthday
✨ A Friday afternoon journey into London
✨ 35°C heat

(At this point, I was wondering if the universe was testing me personally.) 🏳️

I remember worrying whether it would taste as good as a “normal” cake. Whether people would feel like they were compromising because of dietary requirements.

Because nobody should feel like an afterthought when they’re celebrating something special.

The best compliment?

Nobody could tell it was gluten free or dairy free. 🙌🏻

And that’s exactly how it should be.

Everyone deserves to enjoy the cake, celebrate the milestone and leave feeling happy, not unwell.

The fact that this floral queen survived the journey, the heat and the pressure while looking fabulous is just the cherry on top. 🍒💃

Looking back, this cake reminds me that some of the things we’re most nervous about end up teaching us the most.

It’s simply a pause.

When I started Chrispa’s Bakes, it was never about building a business. It was about creating moments of joy, bringing people together, and showing love through something handmade. What began as a creative outlet quickly grew into something far more special than I could ever have imagined.

Over the past year, I have had the privilege of being part of your birthdays, baby showers, celebrations, milestones, and everyday moments. Every order, every message, every recommendation, and every word of support has meant more to me than you know.

At the same time, I have recently stepped into a new professional chapter that aligns deeply with my personal values. Through my work, I have the opportunity to support working families and carers on a wider scale, helping create environments where people can thrive both at work and at home.

It is an exciting challenge, and one that I am learning so much from every single day.

As I invest my time and energy into this new journey, I have realised that now is also the right moment to take a step back and reflect on Chrispa’s Bakes. Sometimes, creating space is the best way to see the bigger picture.

This pause will give me the opportunity to appreciate how far this little business has come, reflect on everything it has taught me, and carefully consider what the next chapter could look like.

So, while I will continue sharing plenty of baking content (because baking will always be part of who I am!), I won’t be taking on any new orders over the summer.

Any orders already confirmed and in the pipeline will, of course, go ahead as planned. 🥰

Thank you for believing in me, supporting my small business, and allowing me to be part of your special moments. Chrispa’s Bakes has brought so much joy into my life, and this is by no means the end of the story and I cannot wait to tell you what’s next. 😬

In fact, I think it might just be the beginning of something even better. 🫣

This one was extra special - a Jungle Book theme with a lighter twist…
✨ 45% reduced sugar
✨ Made with brown/coconut sugar instead of refined

Because celebration cakes can still feel good and taste incredible 💛

POV: your “healthy treat” starts with chickpeas and somehow ends up tasting like brownie batter 👀😂

Yes… chickpeas.
And no… it does NOT taste like hummus, I promise.

These triple chocolate brownie batter truffles are:
✨ gluten-free
✨ dairy-free
✨ refined sugar-free
✨ high in protein
✨ HIGH in fibre (thank you chickpeas 💁‍♀️)

And they are dangerously easy to make…

Here’s the recipe👇

* 1 can chickpeas (drained & rinsed)
* 2/4 cup cocoa powder
* 1/2 cup agave syrup (or sweetener of choice)
* 1 big tbsp peanut butter
* 1 tsp vanilla
* 1/2 tsp salt
* Chocolate chips (optional and measure with your heart ❤️)

Method:
Blend everything (except choc chips) until smooth.
Fold in chocolate chips. (If you are using them)
Chill the mixture until firm.
Roll into balls, chill again. Melt the chocolate and dip your frozen balls in melted chocolate, sprinkle sea salt (fancy 🎩)…

Try not to eat them all in one go 👀
