⚠️ Oak Processionary Moth (OPM) warning!

OPM caterpillars have been spotted in Verulamium park (near our office and wildlife garden).

These caterpillars develop thousands of tiny hairs which can be released into the air or left on trees, grass and clothing. Contact with these hairs can cause itchy rashes, eye irritation, sore throats and breathing difficulties in people and animals.

The risk is highest at this time of year (May–June).

👉 Please avoid touching caterpillars or nests
👉 Keep children and dogs well away
👉 Do not attempt to remove nests

If you’ve had a reaction, seek medical advice! 💚
