Every bake has a story to tell, in the making or the eating or both!
Last week’s cooking club Carrot Cake really surprised me. After the usual eugh! not carrot, we baked them, there were the usual tastings on the way out but then that night I got a message.
One of my bakers had shared her cakes with a friend who hates cake but LOVED this one and was asking for the recipe. Wow! What a story we baked.

What a week of amazing world flavours!
Happy World Baking Day!
We’ve baked our way around the world this week with Farmer’s Market, Cooking Club and a Baking Workshop visiting the US, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Japan and Greece and flavours from many more.
Thanks to everyone who sampled world flavours and baked with me this week, it’s been a blast.

Happy 100th Birthday Sir David Attenborough!
We made Banana Bread in cooking club this week to celebrate, thinking back to one of his first films with chimpanzees and knowing all monkeys love bananas!
They turned out so well. He’s such a national treasure. Happy 100th x

Pistachios are still flavour of the month as we enter May. Aero have now launched a pistachio flavour bar and linked it with the new Devil Wears Prada2 movie which is out tomorrow (May 1st). An on-pack promo gives you the chance to win a trip to New York and other instant win prizes and the promo runs until July, so it's worth picking up a bar if you see one and giving it a try.

For me mess in the kitchen is the result of a good baking session; flour on the surface, sprinkles rolling away and creativity in full swing. Happy Pineapple upside Down Pudding Day!
Who knew there was a day dedicated to the 70s Pineapple Upside Down pudding? Well there is and it's today - Apr 20th.
I created a Pineapple Upside Down Cake version to bake and celebrate this in cooking club. Here's our results; they all loved it and I've converted a new generation to this 70s classic!

Did you know Kit Kat are the first ever official chocolate to sponsor Formula 1? The sponsorship began in 2025 and is ramping up this season.
To mark the launch of limited edition mini racing car Kit Kats, they created a full size replica out of chocolate which was unveiled on the track at Silverstone a few weeks ago.
At 5 metres long and 2 metres wide it took 1,254 hours to create and weighs a massive 350kg, equivalent to over 16,900 2 finger Kit Kats!
Mini ones are now in stores across the UK for a limited time only. Thanks Kit Kat; that's Father's Day sorted!

We had all weathers today; sunshine, 30mph wind gusts and then rain showers and even hail.
So grateful my gazebo stood the challenge and a big Thankyou to all those of you who purchased Brownies and Bakes, said hello or simply smiled.

It’s Farmers Market this Sunday. We may all have had our fill of chocolate eggs but there are some interesting newbies making an appearance- Simnel style Brownies, Miso Brownies and Double Choc Olive Oil Cookies, as well as award-winning favourites. Hope to see you on Sunday.
