We have a few spaces on tomorrow’s afterschool class and are making pizza. We imagine we will also get talked into some doughballs.
We know these sessions have been super busy but they are now available to book.
Thursday’s afterschool class also has a couple of spaces remaining and they are making treacle tart and custard this week.
School holiday classes are filling up, so please don’t leave it too late to book onto those.
And, for the adults, we have a Saturday tapas class coming up, which are always great fun.

We have added more adult classes to our website. In addition to our regular Monday adult evening sessions (we are making choux pastry and puff pastry next week) we have some great Saturday sessions available.

We have a few spaces available on this week’s school holiday sessions.
Tomorrow we are having a bit of a ‘Street Food’ theme, getting creative with Mac n Cheese dishes; Wednesday it’s Metingue Madness (just 1 workbench left) and on Thursday we will be making cupcakes (with a bit of a spring theme) and chocolate cheesecake bombs.

Great News!
We will be showcasing a selection of our products at Saddleworth Marina Market this Sunday.
In support of Real Bread Week, we’ll be bringing along some of our handmade breads, baked onsite in Diggle. Made with just four simple ingredients — flour, water, yeast and salt (as it should be!) — as well as our traditional hand-rolled, oven-bottom muffins.
We’ll even have a limited number of our take on the famous DeClerq muffin, plus our super-tasty fruit loaf (which we’ve been told is the best around!).
We’re also excited to be re-launching Saddleworth Butter with a new recipe, alongside some delicious flavoured butters.
If you’re looking for something to warm you up while you browse the market, we’ll have a choice of homemade soups. And for those with a sweet tooth, there will be a selection of our favourite treats too.
We will be on hand to chat about our latest cookery classes, our work as an Alternative Provision, and how we can help you organise your own party or event.

Moving from mainstream teaching to running a cookery school has given me a great insight into the world of Home Education. So many fantastic young people enjoying learning. It’s also great when parents capture their journey and share it with us. Thank you so much!!!

2025 has definitely been a busy one!
Thank you to everyone who has supported us. We really appreciate everyone who joins us for a class, trusts us with their special occasion , corporate event or ‘get together’. To those who organise all the paperwork and red tape # for our alternative provisions youngsters to join us (and sorts out their transport), our Home Ed parents and PA’s who fit us into their hectic schedules and everyone who trusts us to ‘make a difference’.
Also to all who pop in for lunch and those who support our little bakery, We really do value each and every one of you.
Non of this could happen without our amazing staff, who are currently having a well earned rest and re-charge ready for the New Year ahead. They approach every day with a smile and truly make Saddleworth Colkery School a very special, unique place. We really do have a fantastic team!!!
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and best wishes for 2026.

The dreaded ‘flu bug’ has taken out one of our family groups for the gingerbread house class. This means we have an extra space. If anyone would like to join us for a fun couple of evenings, please let me know and I’m sure I can sort some last minute discount out.
The sessions are Monday and Tuesday 6-8/8.30pm
