Rest In Piece Daz 💚

We are devastated to announce that our captain, Daz, sadly passed away this afternoon, surrounded by his close family.

Daz is now at peace 🙏

We ask that the privacy of Daz’s family, friends, colleagues and everyone at the club is respected as we come to terms with this heartbreaking loss. There will be no further comment from the club at this time.

£110 donated to Iow Defibrillators on behalf of Daz Powell, captain of Binstead COB Football Club’s first team. 💚
This money has come from our collection pots that we keep by our tills.

That’s just over £200 we raised in 2026 just by our customers all putting their odd pennies in our collection pots. 🥰
All donated to two amazing and very well deserving fundraisers. Thank you to each and everyone of you.

I know a lot of our regulars and customers know that our son, Daniel, plays in the first team for Binstead COB Football Club, which is why we are sharing this go fund me link.

We have a wonderful selection of Disney books that my daughter collected for a few years and has now own grown. Plus a small selection of other fiction novels. All 50p each.

It’s back to school this week! And one of our lovely ladies has created this amazing masterpiece to celebrate…. I mean….to ‘sadly’ wave our little ones off back to the classrooms.

Well what a mad few weeks we’ve had!!!!

Just about to finish our first full week of reopening and it’s been amazing!
So let’s the start the thank yous…..

First a massive thank you to Elaine, Tony, Chris and Alison and everyone else at The Binstead Community Centre Social Club. They sorted us out with space that enabled us to do our popup shop. This worked great for those couple of weeks and we are grateful that our local community club helped us still provide a service to our wonderful village.

Our electricians…. Luke & Darren. Working hard in that heat in the first week yet still continuing on.

Our staff, Tracey, Lewis and Abi….for just doing whatever we asked you. And then working like crazy in the last couple of days to get stock on the shelves. We love you 🥰

You can always relay on your mates…..luckily we’ve got two of the best….Daz & Stu…..Daz for getting our fabulous new ceiling in and then coming back a week later with Stu to help get our fridges in. Thank you guys.

Our wonderful Postmaster and Chief of Cash & Carry runs, Trevor. For putting this altogether and making a drawing on a piece of paper become real. For working 10 hour days for 3 weeks solid. Thank you. And sorry you’ve missed out on so much golf. You can play as much as you want over the summer. ❤️

Our kids….Dan & Liv….for just doing little bits for us when we needed and for being sensible and understanding when we were late home most nights. This is all for you….you’ll thank us when you take this over one day…..maybe 🙄

And finally all of our wonderful customers and residents of Binstead. All the positive comments and feedback we’ve had has been amazing. 🤩
