The Botanical Cake Company, situated in Ruthin, North Wales, is an independent wedding cake company that operates from my home.

Working closely with couples to create elegant, hand-crafted wedding cakes that look and taste amazing.The Wedding Club Networks recommended supplier. 5* hygiene rating. Each wedding cake is tailored to your needs for your big day. Allow me to introduce myself for those who are unfamiliar with me: my name is Fran. I am married to my husband, Rob, and we have a 4-year-old son named Noah. We relocated to Ruthin four years ago to enjoy a slower pace of life and spend more time with our family. My passion for creativity stems from my background in art and design, which I studied in college, and fashion design, which I studied at university. This passion has influenced and pushed my cake designs to new heights. I have been baking cakes for almost a decade, and if you require a unique wedding cake for your special day, please contact me, and I will be delighted to create something special for you.

A little meadow, in cake form 🌿

Soft pinks, natural greens and delicate stems against ivory tiers, with subtle texture beneath the flowers.

Summer colour for Ben & Ellie 🌸

Their three-tier semi-naked wedding cake at Abbeywood Estate in August, finished with fresh flowers in pink, peach and lilac, greenery and berries.

I love how the colourful blooms work with the simple buttercream finish and rustic wooden stand.

Bows, cherries and a touch of burgundy 🍒

Anca & Ali’s wedding cake at Ruthin Castle in June, featuring two tall ivory tiers, oversized bows edged in burgundy and cherries nestled amongst the decoration.

I love how the fine burgundy edging picks out every fold and trailing ribbon.

You can also spot the original design sketch beside the finished cake—a little glimpse of how their ideas came to life.

I’m Fran, the maker behind The Botanical Cake Company, based in Ruthin and creating bespoke wedding cakes across North Wales and Cheshire.

Botanical details, handmade sugar flowers and beautiful flavours are at the heart of my work. I love working with couples to bring their colours, flowers and ideas into a cake that feels personal to them.

Autumn flowers for Tina & Kevin 🍂

Their October wedding cake display at Ruthin Castle brought together an ivory cutting cake with handmade sugar flowers and tiers of floral cupcakes in burgundy, orange and cream.

The top cake was fruit cake, with Vanilla & Raspberry, Chocolate Orange and Cherry Bakewell cupcakes below—something for guests to choose from.

I loved bringing those warm autumn colours through the whole display.
