It’s finally the weekend! This GF delight was for a recent 40th which had a festival vibe (the band were sound checking as I set up!) and they had the best weather for it. Inspired by the birthday girls love of bold, beautiful and quirky prints for her clothing, the lemon lemon cake was a stylish statement to wrap up celebrations. Thanks for the trust, I hope the party continues! 🍋🍹🍰

Got to love a surprise request. Within 1 hour of family holiday 2 months ago, I was accosted to supply a birthday party with “cupcakes with all the colours of the rainbow and it must be shimmery icing”. Good job I supplied the sugar for the energy needed for the bouncy castle. You are welcome parents 🙃🥳😉 Happy Party Day Bean 💚

It’s sad when we are now classed as “retro” gamers, but it’s good to introduce/force the younger generation to embrace our style of Mario. Yes, know they are more up for Mario kart but there is nothing wrong with a plumber traversing the platform through pipes…. This is 40! Yes, I made my cake. No it isn’t elaborate or polished. But it means something. Years and years of this cake from when I was little up to my 21st. Even when we were on holiday, the cake tins were always packed and the sweets carefully selected. An ode to my childhood birthday, because I still haven’t really grown up.
