Huge thank you to ENVY PARTY PLANNERS 🪩 for the incredible backdrop! They are so talented it’s amazing and so sparkly 🤩

We have lots of freshly baked treats including Cinnamon Rolls and Natas just out of the oven and David’s bread too freshly baked and ready to serve sandwiches from 11am. Plus we have some Rapunzel themed cupcakes too.

A little while back we made some of our Pasteis de Nata for family and friends, so it was the perfect time for our son to learn the recipe from his Dad 🥹🥰

Working with David they made the pastry together, the filling, worked the pastry into our moulds, baked them and of course, had to do a taste test!

Our boy is such a foodie already, you guys probably know that based on the sandwich that’s named after him on our menu. It’s a sandwich that he created himself and one that he always used to make if he wanted a treat. It’s so lovely when you guys ask for it as it always makes me smile to think of him in the kitchen filling up the sandwich with layer after layer, but quickly as he wanted to eat it 😂

I always hoped the kids would be interested in learning the ropes as they got older, we’ve made a promise to ourselves to never push them into it though, it’s our passion but that doesn’t mean it’s automatically going to be theirs. But I do have my fingers crossed that it might be 🥲

We are OPEN today AND tomorrow! Lots of freshly baked treats available, including Natas, Cookies, Cinnamon Rolls and a limited number of sandwiches up until 11.30 (shop open 10-2)

Introducing The David (he had to have his own sandwich 🥰)

Smoky bacon, with your choice of Heinz Tomato Ketchup or HP Sauce and butter, on David’s freshly baked Bolo de Caco Portuguese flat bread, baked fresh tomorrow morning.

The bacon will be cooked before David leaves the bakery tomorrow morning so if you collect at 10am they will still be warm 🩷

Collection window 10-11am, introductory offer:

Our little pink door is back open tomorrow with all your freshly baked treats for the last weekend of the summer holidays! 🩷🌸🧁🍪

From our Eton Mess Blonkie with our silky Italian Meringue just lightly toasted and Bonne Maman Strawberry Jam, to our Smarties or Cadbury Crispie Stack made with the finest Belgian Chocolate.

And of course our Pasteis de Nata are back, as well as Cinnamon Rolls, Cupcakes, Cookies and freshly baked Sandwiches.

We also have a special treat for you guys on Sunday re the sandwiches - they will be a pre order only (just on Sunday) more details tomorrow 👀

We will also be OPEN on Bank Holiday Monday with all our bakes and sandwiches too 10-2 - we also have a FREE meet & greet with Rapunzel on Monday in Royston 10.30-11, she will sing at 10.30 and then meet all the children. Big thanks to my Dad for giving the shop a little spruce up while we were away, it’s looking lovely and fresh!

We also have had Kelly’s Little Kitchen delivered today for our tiny customers to enjoy in the shop 🧑🏻‍🍳 👩🏻‍🍳 BUT it’s come in a box with a LOT of pieces 😂 and we haven’t been able to assemble it today but it will be in the shop next week 🥰

The menu is ready for the last bank holiday weekend of the summer 🩷☔️😬

Don’t forget we are CLOSED tomorrow while we freshly bake everything for this weekend.

But we will have sandwiches and all bakes back for all 3 days 🙌🏻

We also have a new cookie this week inspired by our trip to France- the Almond Croissant. Our thick cookie with a hand made almond filling, with toasted almonds and dusted in icing sugar.

We also have the Biscoff S’mores Brookie back and the Strawberry Eton Mess Blonkie that were so popular with you guys a few weeks back. Plus of course Pasteis de Nata, Cinnamon Rolls, Cookies, Brownies, Cupcakes and much more.

We had such a wonderful time together having a much needed break. Thank you for bearing with us with our adjusted opening hours and a HUGE thank you to our legendary friends Linda & Chris - aka The Honest Fig for letting us stay in their beautiful French Maison. A truly special place that we are so grateful we got to visit 🥰 🇫🇷 🥐🥖 🧀 🍷

Big thank you to my Dad for giving the shop a bit of a freshen up whilst we’re away 🩷

This photo is of him doing the same when we opened back in 2022! Not sure he’s as happy about being roped into the job this week though - as well as looking after the shop, the dog, doing the Booker trip and us leaving the filler in the bakery by mistake, sorry Dad but thank you! 😂😬🙈

Am I self taught?

I get asked that question a lot, and although I didn’t go to pastry school, or train as a cake decorator professionally, I did go to a few courses back before I knew I wanted to do this as a career 🥰

And I think those courses, run locally in Melbourn and at the incredible emilyjanecakes 😍 really helped me realise that this was something that might become more than a hobby for me.

Back then we had a group of us that would go to courses together and to the Cake and Bake Show, it was so much fun, we all had (and still do have) cake and baking in common. We went back quite a few times to Emily’s as we loved it!

Fast forward to the last course we did and I was starting to make some cakes for friends and family for free, just because I loved doing so. People would ask me, why don’t you start a business? And I would always say no, it was just a hobby, I was worried I wouldn’t be good enough or it wouldn’t be fun if I started selling cakes.

How wrong was I! As soon as I started I loved every moment, I’d spend hours sitting in my kitchen perfecting details on cakes that would take me into a massive loss on what I charged 🙊 but I didn’t care as I knew I was building my skills with every cake (and every loss 😂) I made 🥰

So thank you to Emily, for helping me to realise how fun this can be (and super hard work too of course) 🩷
