Active kids in Rosehearty, are a small group which aims to provide local children with a variety of activities and themed discos throughout the year, especially during the school holidays. We are a non-profit organisation, with any funds raised being put straight back into the group to be used at future events. Active kids is run by a small group of local volunteers, and is open to any child aged
between 0-11 years, who lives in the village or attends Rosehearty Primary School, Nursery or Playgroup. Our past activities have included pumpkin carving, a Halloween themed arts and crafts, as well as a Halloween disco. We held a Christmas disco which also included a visit from Santa. As well as a valentine’s day themed arts and craft session with children having the chance to join in with cake decorating. Planned future events include a mother’s day craft session, an Easter workshop as well as an Easter themed disco, and a session which includes the children painting plant pits, with the chance to then plant a flower in their pot. We also have a range of activities planned for during the summer holidays, such as kite making, making an Indian village complete with masks, totem poles, Indian plumes and Indian style tents. We also plan on having a sand castle building competition, a visit from a strongman, a surfing demonstration from an award winning surfer, as well as various outdoor sports. Of course due to our unpredictable weather we will always try to have Fordyce Street hall on standby incase we have to cancel any of our outdoor activities. ACTIVE KIDS IN ROSEHEARTY is run by:

“'I'm a busy mum to 2 kiddies & wife to one big kid. I love getting involved in their games & keeping them active as much as possible. When I have 'me' time & weather is good I like to go walking & out on my bike. When I do get a weekend off, which is not often, I like wine time with friends”
