Loulou Moore

Loulou Moore Baker, Maker and Embroiderer I am an independent designer and maker specialising in bespoke hand embroidery, every thread lovingly stitched.

After marrying my childhood sweetheart in the summer of 2015 and having withdrawal from the bountiful amounts of stitching I did for the big day, I felt the time had come for me to share the stitching love and create many more keepsakes for others and Loulou Moore was created. My signature pieces are my Bride and Groom dolls. Inspired by my love of fabric and all things miniature, having trained a

s a puppeteer, I began making them as gifts for friends and family and then eventually for my own wedding. Available as cake toppers or elegantly displayed in a frame to adorn your wall they are a constant reminder of your special day. Memories are stitched with love

I recently made a cake for a princess themed party. The top tier was vanilla sponge with raspberry jam and the bottom tier was chocolate cake. The flowers felt fit for a princess and I couldn’t resist adding some sparkling gold too. ✨ 🌺 👸🏼

A Peter Rabbit themed cake was my latest cake commission for a little boy. 🐇
This was such a lovely and fun cake to make and the customers were very happy and told me they were blown away when they saw it.
The bottom tree trunk style cake was a classic Victoria sandwich and Mr McGregor’s garden themed top tier was a very apt carrot cake. 🥕
The rabbits, vegetables and picket fence were made using modelling fondant, which was a new technique for me. I’ve not used it before but I definitely shall again in the future.
I loved making the little vegetables, it made me think how much I used to love playing with dolls house food! Perhaps I should make some more miniature food in the future. 🥕 🥬 🧺

My most recent bake was a cake for my Dad. I chose to make a cake replica of his own Shepherd’s Hut. A rather niche cake design 😂. It was a Chocolate fudge cake covered in fondant and finished with edible paints. I was pretty pleased with the colour match to the real thing, see photo 2 for likeness!

This year for my 6 year old son’s Birthday it was a Stegosaurs cake. As requested, a vanilla sponge (made yellow and green using food colouring) with vanilla buttercream and strawberry jam.
🎂 I tried a new method this time with the icing and, inspired by I made white modelling chocolate for the skin, which was much easier to work with to get that dinosaur skin like texture.
🎂 I then painted it using edible paint. I enjoyed painting and mixing up the dinosaur shades.
🎂The spines were melted white chocolate and again painted with edible paint.
The cake went down very well and was perfect for our wooded Jurassic Birthday Party. Tasted delicious too! 😋 🦖

Well it’s been rather a while since I last stitched and posted. After a stitching hiatus (having child number 2) I recently had a commission for newlyweds in Canada. The brief was a hoop to mark their wedding day, which in these strange times was a very different day to the Wedding they’d originally planned but I can imagine no less special. A significant date in their lives together. 💕

A country themed hoop for a very special new Mr and Mrs. I stitched it as a gift for the same couple as the cowboy boots I’ve previously posted about. One of the highlights at the wedding was the country line dancing. So much fun, Yee-Haw!
