**Afternoon Tea Review **

It has been a while so thought I should do another one! On a lovely early September sunny Sunday we visited the gorgeous Little Pickle at the Mill in Wimborne. A beautiful venue with seating outside, by the river or inside. The table was already laid with vintage mismatched china which I absolutely love and always think afternoon tea tastes better on it!

The staff were friendly and service was very prompt. The classic afternoon tea is great value at £21 pp and came with a lot of sandwiches. The sandwiches were classic flavours done well on soft fresh bread with plenty of filling. There was about 5 or 6 finger sandwiches each.

The scones were served warm and fresh. You only got one each and they were plain ones not fruit but they came with plenty of cream and jam and tasted divine. Probably some of my favourite scones.

The cake selection was a very classic selection and just the right amount, 3 small bits each. Each cake was moist and again full of flavour, clearly made with love.

Whilst we didn't have much left to take home we did get a small box to takeaway. We sat and chatted for a while and there was no rush for us to leave, it was a beautiful venue to enjoy our catch up.

Overall I highly recommend this tea and think it would make a fantastic gift 🎁. I think it is very good value and offers a more rustic venue than the hotels we have recently been to without compromising on taste. I cannot fault the food, it was all delicious and I shall be returning! 😋 🎂

So excited my goodies have arrived from 🩷☁️ LITTLE BLONDE BAKES ☁️🩷 and they look delicious 😋 😍 unfortunately I have to share them. Have tried the old school sponge so far which was very light and a nice ratio of icing! Now to try and resist eating them all today!

I've been trying a bit of mindfulness recently to try and calm the nervous system and cope with stress. Have really enjoyed doodling and colouring especially outside. Last one was inspired by my friend Natalie and the lovely fig tree at Patrick's Patch where she works Fairweathersgardencentre in Beaulieu 🥰

**Afternoon Tea Review**

Today's visit was to in the New Forest. A gorgeous location with a lovely comfortable restaurant. The staff were attentive and friendly and we were greeted with a wonderful selection of teas.

I really enjoyed today's tea as it was the perfect amount and each element was enjoyable. The sandwiches were soft and fresh with a variety of traditional fillings including egg mayonnaise, ham, cream cheese & cucumber and salmon. My only request would have been slightly more filling but they were delicious non the less.

The scones were generous and served warm with plenty of cream and jam, can't fault those!

We each had three cakes and I feel it was a lovely variety providing different flavours. A mango and raspberry cheesecake, chocolate truffle and a caramel choux bun. The choux bun was my favourite and I could have ate that again!

We spent almost 3 hours there chatting and enjoying the food, and we did not feel rushed. In fact the staff kept the tea flowing!

At £28 per person I think this is a very good value afternoon tea in the forest and I will definitely be back!

Homemade granola is so easy and so good! Simply mix oats, seeds, nuts, coconut and cinnamon with some melted coconut oil, maple syrup or honey, vanilla and a sprinkle of sea salt then bake at 150 on a tray making sure you mix it every 10 mins. Usually takes about 40 -50 mins to get to the way I like it.

Perfect served with fruit and Greek yoghurt 😋

Some of this weeks bakes. Flapjacks made with mollasses for extra iron, carrot and ginger muffins with added fibre and some seeded granola 😋👌

A very delicious roast at for the husbands birthday. Yorkshires and pork were so good! Probably didn't need pudding but it was hard to resist!
