When I first started Bakes by Stephanie I had an order for a rectangle cake and it was not well received.
It was my first time not covering a rectangular cake in fondant and I was working with white chocolate buttercream - far too soft for me to achieve a good finish, never again!!
The customer complained and said it looked messy and she requested a refund so she could buy the recipient a bottle of wine to make up for the awful cake!
This feedback really knocked my confidence and I nearly gave up then and there!
But instead I decided to learn from it and practise! Whilst I am still not 100% happy with the corners on this cake, it is 1000 times better than the cake I produced 5 years ago!
