We are so pleased to have supported Waun Capel Park trust with funds to purchase the willow and sundry materials including ties, ground clips and ground sheets. But materials are only a part of this great project, it is the volunteers vision and work that is making this happen! Well done all.

Rhayader Town Council has recorded its heartfelt thanks for the hard work and dedication given to the town and surrounding area by former councillor John Heal Humphreys whose funeral takes place at St Clement’s Church today. John served as a member of the town council for two stints spanning many decades, and was Mayor on more than one occasion.

Well known by all generations in our town, John was also remembered for his his long-standing and unfaltering commitment to many other organisations and groups in our community.

John will leave a big void in our community, but his legacy will last for many, many years to come.

“Rest in eternal peace John”.

Announcement from Rhayader Primary School:
*******

“Rhayader Primary School’s Eisteddfod!”

We are beyond excited to announce that Rhayader Primary School will be hosting its very first School Eisteddfod on March 5th at Rhayader Leisure Centre, in proud partnership with Rhayader Town Council.

This is a landmark event for our school, the Town Council and the whole local community — a fantastic celebration of talent, creativity and Welsh culture.

Every child in the school will be taking part, competing both on and off the stage. From performances and recitations to art and creative competitions, all pupils will have the opportunity to shine and showcase their talents.

What makes this event truly special is that the children have been at the heart of creating it. They have:

Designed and chosen the winning Eisteddfod Crown and Chair
Helped shape and select the competitions
Had their say in what they would like to enter

This really is an event created by the children, for the community — and it promises to be a day to remember. It is certainly not to be missed!

Tickets are on sale from today via ParentPay
£2 per ticket
Initially limited to 2 tickets per

This is an all day event with doors opening at 9.30am and competitions commencing at 10.00am.

Tickets will be available through ParentPay until 24th February. Any remaining tickets after this date will then be released for general sale to the public.

We can’t wait to see our community come together on March 5th to support our incredible pupils and celebrate this very special first for Rhayader Primary School!
