Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Smith, married at Letton, Norfolk. A lovely personal cake for this couple - the groom likes cricket and the bride loves shoes. Tiny handmade cricket bat and ball and sugar shoes hidden amongst the sugar roses, pale blue hydrangeas, freesias and foliage. Sugar figures of the groom and bride - he loves to fish so he finally caught his bride. Stunning setting in the marquee from Grice Foster Marquee and Event Hire - loved the chair dressing - so beautiful.

A very busy weekend for weddings last weekend. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Ramm, married at Hunters Hall on Sunday 28 August. I loved this cake - tall and elegant decorated with handmade white sugar roses, Cala lillies and blossoms with a hint of pale green dusting. Sugar lace detail and royal iced pearls.

And last but by no means least - dusky pink, white ruffle and challkboard wedding cake with dusky pink sugar peonies, ranunculus, berries and leaves. Contratulations to Mr and Mrs Mill, married Saturday 6 August 2016 at @ another favourite of mine, the rather beautiful Stower Grange Hotel. Wishing you both a wonderful and happy marriage. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Reeve, married 6 August at the beautiful Kimberley Hall. Beautiful soft pastel peach, lemon and pink sugar roses and blossoms, royal iced pearls, bird cage detail and pearlly chandelier decoration. Such a pretty cake at one of my favourite wedding venues.

Warmest congratulations to Lizzie and Tony, married at the beautiful Woodhall Manor 2 August 2016. I loved making this cake and I'm only sorry that the photographs do not do it justice. It was a wet dull day. When we met the couple said they wanted a bright and cheerful wedding cake and so it was - bright pink, orange and mint green decorated with co-ordinating hearts.

There were a few fraught moments this week with this wedding cake - it certainly took me from my comfort zone, but I was quite fond of the little fella by the time I had finished him. This cake was a request from the bride for her husband as a surprise - a bit of a Star Wars fan I believe. I hope he enjoyed it. My interpretation of BB8 in all his glory at a home wedding in West Raynham. Thank you to Tristram Abbs of Julie Abbs Catering for setting me the challenge. And just in case anyone is wondering - the BB8 cake stood approx 100cm tall, took over 15kg of icing to cover and a lot of patience.
