After ALOT of thought - I have made the heart breaking decision to take a huge step back from my cake business. This decision was not taken lightly and I have struggled myself to accept this. ❤️
So much has changed within the industry over the years, and also, of course, the cost of living crisis we are all going through right now.
This summer I have had only a handful of cake orders, and nearly all enquiries coming through are requests for ‘simple’ ‘cheapest option’ cakes. Whilst I totally and completely understand that the times we are in are very hard, I have simply come to the point where I cannot earn a respectable and sustainable salary from this business.
Although I’ll be stepping away from regular orders, I won’t be stopping completely (I can’t bring myself to do that 😢) I will still (hopefully) be taking on the VERY occasional wedding cake. I will still also be keeping my Facebook and instagram page, it means too much to me to let it go.
This business has been such a special part of my life, I am so so proud of what I have built and I’m incredibly grateful for every order, every celebration I’ve been trusted to be a part of, and every person who has supported me along the way. From the very beginning, your kindness, encouragement, and love for my cakes have meant more than I can put into words.
Whilst it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, I want to say thank you so much for all the love, support, recommendations and wonderful memories over the years. It truly has meant the world to me. ❤️
If you have a cake booked in with me - please don’t worry! I will be honouring all orders, I would never let anyone down! I’m actually making a guitar this week 😂 so it’s not over yet.
Creating edible masterpieces and beautiful cakes is a true passion of mine and who knows maybe one day I’ll be back, but for now I know this is the right thing for me.
