Well… I’m finally back!

After six weeks of being closed, baking in a temporary kitchen feels very strange, but it’s good to be back!

Weirdly, this unexpected time out has given me the chance to think about how I want to move forward.

I really love what I do. But I’m 57, and I’ve realised I don’t want to spend my time worrying about keeping up with Instagram, feeling guilty when I’m not posting, watching the stats to see if anyone has actually engaged, or comparing my success against what everyone else is doing ….

There’s family, friends, adventures, real life… and living in the moment.

So I’m choosing a bit more balance, a little less pressure and, hopefully, more time doing the bit I really love - baking for you. 🤍

There will still be the posts, and the reels and the sharing but there won’t be the guilt to do it - constantly thinking that by posting more my business will grow, when in fact I can’t actually work out if I want it to …

I’m curious, does anyone else feel the pressure to keep up with social media too? Or have you finally learned to ignore it?

Please tell me it’s not just me! 😉👇

Well… hello again 🥰 After six weeks of closed signs, boxes everywhere, building work, a temporary kitchen and a well needed break … I’m back (albeit still in the temporary kitchen) 🥹

And honestly, getting back into the kitchen feels a little bit like putting on an old pair of jeans after the long summer. Familiar… but you’re just not quite sure they still fit. 😂

So this is me reminding myself what I actually make around here and remembering why I love it so much.

There’s been a lot of thinking over the last few weeks too. About work, social media, how much of life we share online… and how I don’t want the business to take over my actual life …. I’m still figuring that bit out.

But for now, I’m baking again. And it feels really good. 🤎

If you’ve been here for a while, thank you for sticking around while I disappeared.

And if you’re new here… hello! I’m Lisa, this is my little bakery, and apparently I make rather a lot of cake. 😂

A little behind-the-scenes update… 👀

After a big leak, my usual kitchen is still being dried out and repaired, so for now, this is my temporary home for the next 3-6 months …

I’m slowly getting everything back in place and finding my feet again, ready to start baking and taking orders 🧁

Thanks so much for bearing with me while I get back up and running - I can’t wait to be back doing what I love! 💛

After what has been the most wonderful two weeks of family, fun and laughter I finally need to face the aftermath of a flood in my kitchen.

I’ll be up and running as soon as I can but in the meantime there’s a move to be made & well earned holiday to take before the ovens are turned back on.

I’ll keep everyone posted - thank you so much for your support & patience.
