We’ve had loads of interest and comments on our page this week after the video with Tay and Alex went out. It’s been great to see everyone sharing their opinions!

Just to clear something up though – our Preston Tart isn’t meant to be a Manchester Tart. We actually invented the Preston Tart ourselves around five years ago.

One of our team members, who still works with us today, created the cake and gave it the name “Preston Tart”. Since then, it’s become one of our best sellers, and we’ve been making and selling them ever since.

We even had a bit of fun on the radio with a lady who sold Manchester Tarts, which led to plenty of press, but it’s always been about celebrating both cakes, not comparing them.

The Manchester Tart has its place, and so does the Preston Tart. Manchester is a great city, Preston is a great city, and if anything, we just thought the Manchester Tart looked a little lonely, so we gave it some company. ❤️

Thanks to everyone who’s joined the conversation – we love seeing the debate, but we thought we’d share the story of where the Preston Tart really came from!
