❤️ SHE’S THERE… MINNIE HAS MADE IT TO AMERICA ❤️
There are some moments when you sit down to write a post and genuinely don’t know where to start…
Because this little girl has taken us all on one hell of a journey. 🥹❤️
On Friday, Minnie flew to America.
And this is her… sat outside the hospital in Pittsburgh where she will undergo the life-saving heart operation she so desperately needs. 🇺🇸❤️
Just look at that picture.
A little girl who, not so long ago, was just a name and a story we shared with you…
And now she is THERE.
She has made it all the way to America.
And we want to take a moment to say something that perhaps gets forgotten when you see a fundraising target being reached…
Every single one of you played a part in getting her there.
🍩 OVER 100 CHILDREN took part in our Minnie doughnut challenge. 🍩
Over 100 kids sat down, took on that challenge and helped raise money for Minnie.
Think about that for a moment…
Children helping another child.
Some of them probably didn’t fully understand just how important what they were doing was.
They just knew there was a little girl called Minnie who needed our help…
And they wanted to do their bit. ❤️
Alongside the doughnut challenge, we had our burger challenge, which saw adults and children taking on the challenge to raise money for Minnie.
And then came something pretty special…
❤️ MAX V FOOD gave up his own time to take on all six of our challenge winners.
Adults and children.
He didn’t have to do it.
He chose to.
He gave up his time, travelled to us and took on those six incredible finalists — all because he wanted to help Minnie.
That’s the kind of thing that makes you realise just how special this whole journey has been. ❤️
But it wasn’t just the people who took part in the challenges.
❤️ The people who bought raffle tickets.
❤️ The people who made donations.
❤️ The businesses and individuals who donated prizes and money.
❤️ Our amazing sponsors, who backed us and helped make the fundraising possible.
❤️ The people who came into the cafe and supported us.
❤️ The people who liked our posts.
❤️ The people who shared our posts.
❤️ The people who followed Minnie’s story.
And ❤️ every single person who stopped for a moment, read about this little girl and thought…
“I want to help.”
To all of our sponsors — THANK YOU.
To Max V Food — THANK YOU.
To every single person who took part — THANK YOU.
To every child who took on that doughnut challenge — THANK YOU.
To every person who bought a raffle ticket, made a donation, liked, shared or simply followed Minnie’s story — THANK YOU.
You might think your £5 didn’t make a difference.
You might think buying one raffle ticket didn’t make a difference.
You might think sharing one post didn’t make a difference.
You might think letting your child take part in a doughnut challenge was just a bit of fun…
But put every single one of those little acts of kindness together…
And look where they got her.
🇺🇸 MINNIE IS IN AMERICA.
We started this journey because one little girl needed help.
And what happened afterwards was something truly incredible.
A community came together.
Children came together.
Families came together.
Businesses came together.
Sponsors came together.
People gave their time.
People gave their money.
People gave their prizes.
People gave their support.
And thousands upon thousands of people followed her journey and wanted to see this little girl get her chance.
We honestly don’t know what the outcome of the operation will be.
We can’t promise what the future holds.
But we do know this…
Minnie has made it to the hospital.
She has made it to the place where she can finally get the specialist treatment she needs.
And when she walks through those hospital doors, we hope her family know that she isn’t walking through them alone.
Because behind her is an army of people back home who have cheered her on, raised money, taken challenges, bought raffle tickets, made donations, sponsored us, given up their time, shared her story and believed in her. ❤️
From everyone here at the Village Bakery & Cafe…
THANK YOU.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for giving.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for believing.
And to those 100+ amazing children who took part in the doughnut challenge…
You should be incredibly proud of yourselves.
Because you didn’t just eat a doughnut.
You helped another little girl get one step closer to the treatment she needs. ❤️🍩
And Max…
You didn’t just take on six food challenges.
You gave six people an experience they’ll never forget, while helping a little girl get to America. ❤️
This is what happens when people come together for something bigger than themselves.
One cafe.
Hundreds of people taking part.
Businesses giving.
Sponsors supporting.
Children getting involved.
Thousands of people sharing.
And one little girl getting her chance.
**This isn’t just Minnie’s story anymore.
It’s all of ours. ❤️**
So wherever you are, please join us in sending Minnie the biggest amount of love, strength and positive thoughts imaginable.
Come on Minnie… you’ve got this little girl. ❤️🇺🇸
And when you’re ready, we’ll all be waiting to hear that you’ve done it.
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
