Meet little Louis, just 6 years old! 🥹👏

Louis came down to take on our charity food challenge, but unlike most challengers, he had no intention of winning or even finishing!

He simply wanted to take part and do his little bit to help us raise money for the Rowans Hospice Cuddle Bed. ❤️

At just 6 years old, Louis has shown us all that you don’t have to be the biggest, strongest or fastest to make a difference.

Little lad, MASSIVE heart! 💙

At 7:30 this morning, this absolute legend travelled all the way from Bournemouth to take on THE BEAST! 💪🥪

Unfortunately, the Beast got the better of him, but in our eyes, he’s already a winner! 👏

Why? Because he got out of bed early, travelled all that way and put himself through the challenge to help raise money for something truly special. ❤️

We’re raising money for a cuddle bed for Rowans Hospice, giving loved ones the chance to lie side by side, hold each other close and share those precious final moments together. 💔

Sometimes winning isn’t about finishing a challenge. It’s about making a difference in someone’s life.

After finishing a meeting with us today to discuss some exciting future charity events, this absolute legend is now heading straight to the airport!

✈️ Destination… KATHMANDU, NEPAL! 🇳🇵

Alongside Brannen Sime and their guide, he’s about to take on the gruelling journey to Everest Base Camp. Their journey will take 12 days!

But this isn’t just about climbing a mountain. ❤️

It’s for the loved ones we’ve lost to cancer, those fighting for their lives right now, and the families watching someone they love suffer every single day. 💔

They’re doing this for the amazing Friends Fighting Cancer , and every step will mean something.

❤️ PLEASE SHARE — SOMETIMES THE SMALLEST GESTURE CAN MAKE THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE. ❤️

Here at the Village Bakery, we receive lots of messages asking for help, but this one really touched our hearts. ❤️

Imagine being just 35 years old and already having battled stage 4 bowel cancer, sepsis and undergone TWO hip replacements. 💔

That’s exactly what this incredibly brave young man has been through.

And now, this October, he’s taking on an incredible challenge alongside his niece — walking over 60 MILES to raise money for bowel cancer. ❤️

When we received the message asking if we could share their story, how could we possibly say no?

We have thousands of amazing people following our little independent bakery, and if we can use that following to help someone who’s been through so much, then that’s what it’s all about. ❤️

Imagine being a child and having to shave your mum’s hair off because cancer has come back. 💔

🙏 PLEASE SHARE THIS — even if you can’t donate, one share could put this in front of someone who can.

10 years ago, this local mum fought cancer.

She thought that chapter was over.

Now it’s back.

With the help of Friends Fighting Cancer and some incredible local people, we’ve already managed to pay for her wig. ❤️

But watching this reel of her children shaving their mum’s hair made us realise…

We want to do more.

Mum is now undergoing chemotherapy that will take her right up to Christmas.

While most of us will be worrying about presents, Christmas dinner and whether we’ve bought enough…

this family will be worrying about something far bigger.

So we’ve set up a JustGiving page with one simple mission:

We can’t take away the cancer.

🚨 DISHWASHER DAVE HAS BEEN MUGGED!

We’d like to thank everyone for their kind messages after poor Dishwasher Dave was mugged today… and had his trousers well and truly pulled down. 😳

Don’t panic — Dave’s been taken to hospital to be checked over, but we’ve been told he’s gonna be ok, but thankfully before he left the scene he managed to identify the culprit…

⛽ PUMP NUMBER 6 😂

Apparently Dave filled the van up, looked at the price on the screen and immediately needed medical assistance. 🚑💷

People have been asking if there’s anything they can do to put a smile back on his face, but being the bloke Dave is, he doesn’t want this terrible ordeal to be about him. ❤️

❤️ Imagine spending your whole married life never having a night apart…

An elderly couple, married for decades, had never spent a night away from each other since the day they said “I do.”

Then one of them reached their final days.

That’s where a cuddle bed can mean absolutely everything. ❤️

Instead of sitting beside the person you’ve loved for a lifetime, it gives you the chance to climb in beside them, hold them, cuddle them and spend those precious final moments together.

That’s why we’ve been doing this challenge for Rowans Hospice. 🙏

After watching her mum take on the Ladies Mini Beast and actually BEAT IT 💪, this lady stepped up thinking…

“If Mum can do it, surely I can.” 😂

Unfortunately, the Beast had other ideas. 😬😂

❌ FAILED ATTEMPT!

So Mum definitely has the bragging rights in that family! 😂👏

But this challenge has never just been about winning.

Every person who steps up, whether they finish it or not, is helping us raise money towards an incredible cause and helping families have those final precious moments together. ❤️

So she may not have beaten Mum…

but she still helped us beat something far more important. ❤️
