Gluten-free food can cost more to produce — there’s no getting away from that.
Specialist ingredients, a dedicated gluten-free premises, strict allergen controls, regular gluten-free testing, SALSA accreditation… and we’re now working towards BRC too.
All of that costs money.
BUT… we’ve always believed that needing a gluten-free diet shouldn’t automatically mean paying a huge premium for your food.
So we work really hard to keep our prices competitive — both for our online customers and for the cafés, farm shops, delis and other businesses we supply wholesale.
In fact, it can be a little frustrating when we see a “gluten-free surcharge” added further down the line when the product we supplied hasn’t actually cost the business any more. Of course every business has its own costs, but we don’t believe “GF” should automatically mean “luxury price”.
💚 Gluten-free is a necessity for many people — not a lifestyle upgrade.
