Looking for a fun and creative activity for your child? Come along to Nanny Kim’s Sewing Bees for our Saturday sewing sessions!

✨ Time: 9:30am – 12:00pm
✨ Cost: £15 per session
✨ Who: Children who love being creative and want to learn sewing skills

Each session children will learn new sewing techniques while making fun projects in a friendly, supportive environment. Perfect for beginners or those who already love sewing!

🧵 NEW January Dressmaking Course – Learn to Read Patterns & Make Your Own Clothes! 🧵

I’m excited to be running a six-week Dressmaking Course starting in January, perfect for anyone who wants to move into garment making with confidence.

✨ What you’ll learn
• How to read and understand commercial sewing patterns
• What all those symbols, markings and instructions actually mean
• Cutting out accurately and preparing fabric
• Sewing pyjama trousers and a top, including:
• Waistbands
• Collars
• Buttonholes
• Garment construction techniques you can use again and again

This course is designed to give you the skills and confidence to tackle future dressmaking projects on your own.

📅 Class options
• Tuesday evening: 7.00 – 9.30pm
• Thursday afternoon: 12.00 – 2.30pm

⏳ Duration
• 6 weeks

💷 Cost
• Course fee: £100
• Class pattern: £15 (we’ll all use the same pyjama pattern for learning)
• Fabric: please bring your own or purchase fabric from me if you prefer

✂️ What we’re making
For this run we’ll be making pyjamas, as they’re brilliant for learning both tops and trousers while keeping things relaxed and wearable.

📍 Held in my friendly, supportive sewing space – small groups, plenty of guidance, and no rushing.

Nanny Kim’s sewing bees Changes for January 2026

Over the last year, I’ve had quite a few situations where people have cancelled at the last minute, not turned up, or left spaces unfilled. Which has resulted in costing me money for materials not used.

Rather than increasing prices — which I really don’t want to do — I need a clearer way to secure places , know how many are attending a session and keep things fair for everyone.
This new system should help protect the spaces you book without raising costs for the whole group.

💛 New Booking System (Starting January)

From January onwards, all sewing classes at Nanny Kim’s Sewing Bee will need to be booked and paid in a four or more -week block.

🌼 Flexible Within Your booked Weeks
You can choose any four or more sessions you like — they don’t have to be consecutive.
Once your sessions are selected and confirmed, payment is required for the full block.

🌼 Cancellations & Moving Sessions
If you need to rearrange a booked session for another date , that’s absolutely fine with 3 days’ notice or more.
If notice is under 3 days, the session becomes non-refundable, except in extreme circumstances, where Nanny Kim will decide if reschedule is possible.

This updated system helps keep classes running smoothly, protects your space, and avoids the need for price increases — which I know everyone appreciates.

Spaces for Saturday 9.30-12.00 and Friday afternoon classes 3.30-6.000 at Nanny kim’s sewing bees, these classes are suitable for children aged 5 upwards .
The denim purses / pouches are such fun to make and come out soooo cute .

Today Nanny kim’s sewing bees did a adult and child Indian block printing and bag making workshop. What a lovely way to spend a Sunday .
The end results are fantastic .

If you fancy having a go , next Indian block workshop is on October 20th from 10-3 , cost is £35 each .

We had Lily and jo attend , who are mother and daughter . It’s lovely to see parents and children learning a new skill together ❤️

Nanny kim’s sewing bees had a fantastic workshop today , great bags made using fabric they have printed with Indian blocks with fabric paint and fabric ink .

Nanny kim’s sewing bees has decided to try something different this summer .
Every Friday afternoon from 19 th July 3.30-6.00 I am going to run sewing sessions that children can work on individual projects .
This session would be great for teenager or children that want to make a project that is more in-depth , such as :

Clothes making

Appliqué

Toy making

Designing

This session will be limited in numbers and it would be advisable to book multiple sessions , as it could take a few weeks to make the item .
Sessions cost the normal price of £15 .

New discount offer:
Book 7 sessions for £100 and save £5.00.
These sessions can be used on Friday afternoons as well as Saturday morning from September.

Reminder that once you have booked a place you are committed to paying for that session.

Nanny Kim’s sewing bees
Here are a list of the classes being run up to the summer holidays . We are based in Farlington and the children will be taught how to use a sewing machine .
Children’s sewing classes run on a Friday after school or a Saturday morning 9.30-12 .
No experience is needed , children must be aged at least 5 to attend.
Cost per session is £15
Loyalty cards are given , once the card is full you will be able to use it on a free Friday or Saturday session . Cards can also be used towards a work shop , this would give you a discount of 50%.

Fabulous day today doing a staff development in Florida. We did paper piecing . Such a great course , real fun to do.
