We can now confirm the final schedule for the Light Up Portree Christmas celebrations this weekend. All activities are now planned to go ahead on Saturday (27th November). Activities on Friday have been cancelled due to strong winds. Thanks for bearing with us while we work around the weather!

The reindeer parade will be starting at 2pm, led by the Isle of Skye Pipe Band, from Bank Street, Portree, along Wentworth Street and up to Camanachd Square and the community centre.

Please gather along the route from 1.45pm.

We ask that if you have a dog to keep it well back from the Reindeer at all times.

After the parade there will be festive food and drink stalls, market stalls, lots of fun for the kids in and around the community centre and festive tunes from Radio Skye

Please bring a face mask as you'll need them to enter the community centre.

To finish off the festivities Santa will lead everyone back down to Somerled Square for the elf trail which starts at 6.15. The winner gets to light the tree.

There will also be mulled wine and hot chocolate from the The Portree Hotel in the square and a chance to visit some of the lovely local shops which will be staying open for late night shop. A great chance to pick up some early Christmas gifts!

We can't wait to get this years celebrations underway!

•Mint chocolate cookie
•Cadbury’s snowball millionaire’s shortbread
•Apple and cinnamon crumble slice
•Yule log with a golden blond liqueur layer

IMPORTANT NOTICE!! Friday 26th November 6-7pm
Due to a really bad weather forecast with severe gales the light up tree event and elf Hunt has been postponed to now happen on Saturday 27th after the Christmas event up at the Community Centre. Please see attached poster with revised details for the elf Hunt, and we will put out a full itinerary for Saturday’s Reindeer Parade at some point on Thursday 25th. Please pass on this message.

Here it is! The Christmas Bakeaway Box will contain one of each of these festive treats, with some festive chocolates too, all bundled up in a traditional Christmas box, for £15. The perfect box of goodies to get you in the Christmas spirit!🎄

We will have a stall in the red pitch, Camanachd Square this Saturday from 2pm. There will be lots of lovely local businesses, and of course, the reindeer parade🎊
