Megan's Welsh Cakes

Was set up back in 2010, at a time where our dove business was predominantly wedding related on weekends.
With wedding bookings, it is easy to plan ahead, as you know how busy you will be 12-18 months in advance.

The last 2 years especially, has seen the funeral side of our business almost triple. With bookings coming in from 2 days to 3 weeks, it makes it difficult to plan, and stick to "baking days"

Often this takes place at night and can continue to the early morning hours.

So, we have taken the decision to stop offering wedding favours.

Packing the cakes takes up a lot of time, and it's time we are short of.

We will continue to offer platters and loose cakes for our customers to pack, and will of course honour the bookings we have currently for favours.

Some of you may be aware that FB has gone a little broken today.
This has included messages disappearing. The latest message I have here is MAY 5TH 2020.
Hopefully they will sort this out soon, but if you've messaged me recently about an upcoming booking, please resend.

S-A-M-P-L-E-S

We are getting more requests than ever to send out samples of our cakes, which is great:)

But please bear in mind, we are not a retail outlet, we dont bake daily, we bake to order.
The minimum bake is 20 cakes - if we made less than that for a special order of samples, the remaining dough would be binned. That is not sustainable, nor does it sit well with us.
The cost just for postage is £4.45, so samples cost £6 for 4 cakes. If you go on to place an order, we will deduct that for you.

We bake traditional cakes most weeks, so youd not have long to wait for these. However with the flavours, there may be a wait until our next order comes in for them, unless you want to order 20.

Due to ever increasing prices of ingredients, energy, packaging and fuel, we have needed to put our prices up - sorry.

We are happy to provide a simple drop off for favours and platters, the cost depends on where and availability, we can post out using tracked mailing, or you can collect from us in Tonteg.

For set ups on cake style or towers, the cost quoted will include delivery and set up time. Any additions such as flowers are charged in accordance to what you want. We are sorry but we dont hire out stands. If youd like a tower, we can source a stand for you to buy, or provide your own. Any cake stands and toppers will either need to be with us before the day or at the venue ready for us.

There is a minimum order of £125 for cakes only if you want us to deliver and set up a wedding cake style or tower.
Labels can be sent to us to add on to favours.

Whether you're after favours, a platter or a tower set up for you, we can do it all.

We price our cakes individually so you can choose what to have.

You can collect from us on Pontypridd or, subject to availability, and an additional cost, we can set up at your venue.

Favours start at £2.50 per pack, individual cakes from 50p.

We have a selection of flavours that are categorised as traditional, special, premium and signature, so you control the spend.

New menu and prices launching Friday.

(Sorry we are full for favours and set ups on weekends until October)
