I have made the decision to close my business. It has been the greatest privilege getting to know clients and producing the wedding cakes and celebration cakes of their dreams. But in the current economic climate running a specialist high end business is really tough, and has taken much of the joy out of it for me. Many thanks to all of you who supported me.

This is the last “official” cake for a while, whilst I ponder whether to close the business or somehow make it work differently. I still love making flowers, and this small wedding cake was just the style I love. Orange and black rose for a Harley-Davidson loving bride!

Probably one of my last official wedding cakes, but it’s always a joy to make a cake for relatives- this was for my niece Emily. It travelled in pieces from Plymouth to North Yorkshire, and was then all put together in a teepee in a torrential rain storm on Saturday. Not ideal conditions for a cake and sugar flowers to stay in tip top condition- high humidity is a cake makers worst enemy! By the end of the day the sugar roses really looked as though they had been in the downpour! However, despite the weather we had a fabulous day at a gorgeous wedding. Congratulations Emily and Ross
