Is anyone else doing their Christmas baking this weekend?
Yesterday was ‘stir up Saturday’ traditionally the last day to make your Christmas pudding. I decided to test out a slightly different one to my usual Delia Smith one, so I roughly followed Nigel Slater’s recipe. I definitely had to do some substitutions and basically used whatever dried fruit was in the cupboard. Is it genius to put dates in a Christmas pudding? Or unhinged? I also made my first batch of sourdough bread since the baby was born.

As a lot of you might know, this is my last week baking for a little while. There will be bread at the Bere Alston post office from me for one more week.
I’m having a break for a few months while I have a baby! (Queue bun in the oven jokes….)
I might keep on posting from time to time if I get around to baking anything fun or come across some really cool baking things. Of course, I’ll update when I get started with my baking again (I expect it will be gradually ramping up rather than jumping straight back in).

Today (Wednesday) I’m at the lovely Poole Farm in Plymouth for their wild wellness event, there’s a lot to see including falconry, animal tours, rural skills workshops (and cake). You’ll find me next to the coffee and ice cream van.
On Friday I’ll be back at the Tavistock Pannier market. My eagle eyed customers might have noticed that I’ve been changing shape recently, in fact I’m starting to wonder down for maternity leave. My bread at the Bere Alston post office, the Tavistock refillery and the Tamar Valley food hub will be carrying on for a few more weeks (although I do have a separate holiday coming up) but this is going to be my last week at the Tavistock pannier market for a while.

This week I’ll be at the Tavistock pannier market on Friday. Unfortunately I’ll be missing this week’s Launceston farmers market, but I’m sure it will be a brilliant market as usual.
You can also find my bread at the Bere Alston post office, the Tamar Valley food hub and the Tavistock Refillery.

Congratulations to everyone involved with the Launceston Farmers' Market! It’s been a brilliant first year, we have a great team of organisers, wonderful local support and customers and some brilliant stall holders (If I say so myself). I’m sure there will be many more successful years to come.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it this weekend, but I’ll be back for the next one. Have a great day celebrating the first anniversary 🥳.

I’m getting ready for the Tavistock pannier market tomorrow and also an early morning Tamar Valley food hub delivery beforehand.
Next week I’m on holiday (again, I know!) so I won’t be at the market on Friday 30th May and I won’t be delivering my usual bread at the Bere Alston post office or Tamar valley food hub.
Everything is back to usual from 2nd June though.
