Not sure what just happened

That was the best market ever, thank you to everyone who came down, and there were a lot of you.

A massive thank you to everyone who queued patiently, that was possibly our longest queue and we didn’t see the end of it for around 2hrs solid, technical issues didn’t help some again thank you for bearing with us

We have really missed the buzz of market day and it was amazing seeing all those familiar faces

We are very excited to see you all at 9am tomorrow for the Pill Market!

Morning all.
I would like to ask a small favour please!
Our good friends at Holly Hedge have been shortlisted to the final 5 in the Petplan Charitable Trust People’s Grant to win £50,000! This would mean a HUGE amount to them and would enable them to improve and expand their current vet suite to enable them to carry out simple operations onsite reducing stress to their animals and their vet bills.
It’s all decided by the public vote.
It just takes one minute to add
your name and email address to vote (one vote per IP address)
They are up against some larger animal charities so every vote really counts.

🚨Bake off!! 🚨

Following feedback from several of you, we have decided to change the date of the Pill Bake Off.

Lots of you have expressed a desire to enter but couldn't due to other commitments in the diary.

In the spirit of ensuring the event is as inclusive as possible we have decided to host the Pill Bake Off at a later date.

With that in mind, what dates are best for you guys, let us know?

So pleased to announce that once again we have been awarded 5 stars on our latest inspection, for not one but both our kitchens 🥳

Good morning Bakers,

Yes, it's time to dust off those aprons and get that mixing bowl out. It's that time you've all been waiting for, we're thrilled to share the details of the upcoming Pill Bake Off with you! 🎉

The Bake Off will be held at it's original home at the Pill and District Memorial Club on Sunday the 5th of April (Easter Sunday) from 14:00 (13:30 if you're entering) until 17:00.

The format will be the same as in 2024 with an adult sweet category, junior sweet category (open to ages up to 12) and a savoury category that is open to all.

*There will be a maximum of 15 entrants per category so enter quickly before spaces fill up.*

You can enter a maximum of two different categories but can only enter one item into each category.

The sweet bakes can be anything from cakes, brownies, biscuits, pastries, tarts and more 🧁🍰🥧🍪🍩🥐 and the savoury bakes can be pies, quiches, bread, sausage rolls 🥖🍞🥨... Whatever your heart desires. The one RULE is that it has to be made and baked by you (no store bought pastry please!).

If you would like to enter (and we very much encourage it) please send an email to [email protected] with the name of the entrant (and their age if entering the junior category) along with the category(ies) they are entering - do not tell us what you are baking!

As in 2024, there will be awards for first, second and third place and the bakes will be sold off for charity after the judging takes place ❤️

We have listened to feedback from the last bake off and this year would like to invite the previous top three from each category to be our judges.

The junior winners will judge the adult sweet category, the adults will judge the savoury category and we are going to have a guest judge for the savoury category.

If you were in the top three in 2024 and cannot make it or don't wish to take part, no worries at all, just let us know 🤗

We are really looking forward to hosting the Pill Bake Off this year and hope to see some familiar, as well as new faces.

This event is designed to inspire everyone to have as much fun baking as we do, and would encourage everyone to have a go... Maybe even start some friendly household competition 😉

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of spending the day with Jane again Cookery School, this time we learned how to make bread. For anyone looking to learn new skills, just improve existing skills or are trying to think of the ideal gift for the baker in your life we highly recommend Cookery School, it’s a fantastic space with amazing teachers, we are already planning our third visit

Following the recent post from the Pill Market (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1MbFZfnF2p/) we would just like to confirm that there will be no market in Jan or Feb whilst the renovation work to the precinct is carried out.

We look forward to seeing you all in March!

Plans for a new transport hub in Pill, North Somerset, are moving forward with works set to start early January 2026.
