🥹 YOU GUYS!

Well, you lot are apparently as invested as I am in this particular crazy cake adventure 🫶

The response to my progress update yesterday on securing FTLOCs permanent home has been AMAZING!

All the comments, messages, shares, encouragement — and the number of people demanding to know WHERE 😂 — have made me even more excited to eventually share what I've been working on.

Because this hasn't exactly been a five-minute idea...

I've been working on it ALL YEAR 👀

There have been spreadsheets. Research. Meetings. Emails. Numbers. Plans. More spreadsheets. Mild panic. Excitement. Multiple “am I actually insane?” moments. And completely unscheduled historical side quests 🤪✌️

There's still a lot of work to do, and I'm VERY cautious about counting my [rescued] chickens before they hatch 🐣😂

But things are moving in the right direction 💪

After 7½ years of FTLOC — from market stalls and pop-ups to everything in between— what comes next feels like the culmination of everything achieved so far. And honestly, it's a testament to just how incredible you guys are!🙌

Your excitement and wholehearted belief in FTLOC is genuinely what keeps me going through the hard decision days, the ridiculously late nights and all those moments when I have to pull on my big-girl-boss pants and do something that absolutely terrifies me. 😂💕

Every order. Every pop-up you've turned up to. Every recommendation, review, share, like and “when are you coming back?!” has helped build FTLOC into what it is today.

It may be a solo mission, but I am definitely not doing this alone, YOU are doing this with me 💜

So thank you for getting excited about what comes next. I promise I'll tell you more as soon as I can ✌️😘

Oh Hey! Acutely aware I’ve been a little bit AWOL on here this week 😅

It’s not because nothing’s been happening — quite the opposite! I’ve been working on SO many different things behind the scenes that actually posting about any of them seems to have fallen off the end of the list! 🤦‍♀️

Growing the FTLOC family… 🌱🥕🪴💜

Some of you will already have seen me mention Harvest & Homestead— our little sister business growing out of the FTLOC garden, focused on growing, making, preserving, repurposing and generally making the most of what we have. Quietly building behind the scenes for years, its time to launch ourselves into both as the two are starting to overlap more and more!

(Get to the point Sarah 🙄😆)

So I’m expanding our FTLOC range of jams & preserves, building up more savoury products and making much more use of our homegrown seasonal produce 🍅🌿🍎

Basically, more things in jars, more things from the garden, more savoury bits… and a few products with a slightly longer shelf life than cake 😂

There’s a lot still taking shape, but the different pieces of my favourite puzzle are starting to join up now and I’m VERY excited to show you more of what I’ve been working on (as excited as if I'd just seen a hedgehog- see last photo! 🫶)

Still here. Still baking around the heatwaves, spending hours watering the garden by watering can, and watching out for hedgehog friends 🦔✌️😘

Veg glorious veg! 🥕🌽🍅

I was lucky enough to be drawn as one of the winners of this incredible veg box, as part of their 10th anniversary giveaway 🎉🥳

I mean just— just look at it! 😍😍😍

The Green Backyard holds a very special place in my heart because FTLOC’s very first events were here 🫶

You can see the mountains of work & Love that Lewis at Project Abundance, Julie at The Refill Cupboard & The Green Backyard volunteers and trustees have poured into it 🌾💜

Together, they have saved this precious green space from redevelopment & continue to create an incredible place for growing, teaching, learning & bringing the community together. It is so lovely to see it thriving 🌻🤩

Project Abundance’s regular weekly veg boxes start at £12.50. Pop them a message to order your fresh boxes for collection from GBY on Oundle Road! The market garden is open Thursday–Saturday, 10am–4pm. 🌶🫑🥔

Project Abundance also offers a brilliant range of workshops (highly recommend, I’ve enjoyed several!) & has a summer programme of events taking place at The Green Backyard & around the city, so keep an eye out for everything they have coming up!

Local food, grown with so much knowledge, care and community spirit — and I cannot wait to start cooking with all of this! 💜✌️😘
